Best cupcakes! First time trying for my birthday, and they were absolutely amazing! I had to come twice while visiting North Carolina..
I swear these are some of the best cupcakes I've ever had. I was craving something sweet and got an assortment of flavors. All were out of this world BUT the crème brûlée flavor is out of this galaxy!!!
I went in there and got 4 cupcakes . 2 vanilla and 2 red Velvet cups cakes. This is not my first time visiting to this establishment and I will not be back. HORRIBLE SERVICE this go round. Her employee was not property trained to deal with refunds on cup cakes. My 2 red velvet we’re dry and the icing was hard but being that the red velvet was hard and dry I wanted a full refund so I called and let him know I what the problem was and I was coming back with the cupcakes. Mind you I drove all the way back from the north to the west to bring these cupcakes back. I get there and the guy would not give me a refund he said let him text his manager. She told him to get my information, which he did! She called me Monday morning and inform me that because the icing had melted I could not get a full refund. It was hot outside. If the cup cakes weren’t dry and the icing hard they would have still been in my house. I didn’t take my money back from the lady because it’s like your telling me you only giving me half of my money and I brung back the whole product. I took one bite out of the red velvet and it was dry and the icing was hard so I spit it out and called thinking like most companies I could get a full refund if I bring back the full product. I spent $14.00 on these cupcakes and I’m 7 1/2 months pregnant I just wanted something sweet. I hate they lost me as a customer but I will not be back I can’t believe the way I was treated!!!!!???
They have gluten-free cupcakes. Most flavors are pretty good. You can't get these things just anywhere. Enjoy them when you can!
Ava's Cupcakes is founded by Michelle Spell, the winner of the 4th season of the popular Food Network show, "Cupcake Wars". Winston-Salem is extremely fortunate to be the location she chose to open her cupcake shop. I've tried about 8 different cupcakes so far, and each one is packed with their own unique flavor, including creme brulee, apple pie, and s'mores. Contrary to other cupcake shops around WS, the sweetness level of these cupcakes are within an acceptable range and will not make you frantically grab the closest glass of water to wash down the sugar.WORTH IT? YES, they are the BEST cupcake shop in Winston-Salem and the greater Triad area (Overall 8/10)
Have loved these Cupcakes (and the staff!) for years! Delicious with amazing flavors! Just recently enjoyed a sampler of the cupcake "bowls" and they are literally unbelievably scrumptious!!! You eat them with a spoon and YUM!!!! What a special business ? not surprised that they won Cupcake Wars and have been highlighted by Food Network and Good Morning America!!!
The gluten free cupcake cakes are okay, though the frosting is too sweet and not very flavorful.
OMG. I stopped and tried this place. Got the Banana guava. Best cupcake EVER. Very nice girls working there. I already went back and got another one and now wanna go right now but not sure if I can make it being it is about 630 and website states close at 7. Maybe tomorrow.
