Great views of the river but on a night when the restaurant appeared to be only half full, it took an hour to get dinner and the food was underwhelming. They seemed to be under staffed. It took a long time to get drinks and staff was indifferent. With so many great options I donât think weâll be back.
Reservations at 7:30. Seated ourselves at 8:30. Hostess kept saying tables not ready or reservations still ahead of usâ¦obviously not so. Bar was crowded and service was poor! Some guests left in frustration. After seating ourselves the area was 1/4 full. Orders crab cakes. Tasted like salmon. Parking was a joke. Most places near by were reserved for Chamber of Commerce after 7:00 on Saturday night???? HORRIBLE experience all around! Will NOT be going back!
We had a long wait but the server and food made up for it!!
Had a reservation 90 minutes prior to a show at Live Oak Pavilion. Ordered within 5 minutes of sitting down. John, our server was greatâ¦but, it just wasnât going to happen. We had to leave before we were served.
We had a reservation at 6:30 PM before a show next door at 8 PM... It took almost the entire time before we received our food. I believe we received our appetizers at 7:45 PM and food at 7:55 PM. Hostess was very apologetic, etc.. AND nothing was even taken off the check OH and to add insult to injury because our party was 8 we got an automatic gratuity added.
it took us over 2 hours to get our meal for a dinner for 4. Other tables had to leave before their food arrived in order to make a nearby show. Our food and drinks were delivered to the wrong table and other tables were incorrectly delivered to us. Our server was wonderful but was struggling between angry chefs + angry customers.
We waited 30 min for cocktails and after an hour and 10 min, our food still had not arrived. We left.
I went with my family to celebrate three birthday dinners. The restaurant is beautiful with a great view! Our server didnât seem to know anything about the food or the alcoholic beverages. My daughter asked three times for salt and pepper. The waiter finally said that he couldnât find any salt so he went downstairs in the hotel and got a shaker that was completely clogged. Most of the food was bland. Since we were celebrating birthdays I asked if he had any dessert specials. He said no. We overheard the table next to us saying they were celebrating birthdays and asked their waiter if there were any birthday specials. Their waiter said yes we do have a special red velvet birthday cake tonight. When my waiter returned I told him this and he said âoh I guess they just took some out of the ovenâ.
We ate at Steam last night. The view of the river was amazing. Our waiter Alex was friendly and competent. We ordered the caesar salad and the new fish stew entree called Moqueco. The fresh rolls were warm and perfect. The caesar salad with the capers and fried anchovies was delicious. The fish stew had a problem. The 4 large clams were inedible they were so chewy. This was especially disappointing since this was the same complaint we had months ago at our last visit when the clams were in their bouillabaisse.
The food & the service were both very good and the atmosphere was nice. The only drawback was that we were seated for dinner at a table which faced a blinding sunset reflecting off of the river. The hostess tried to lower the blinds but they werenât working. She left, saying that she was going to try & find someone to fix it. No one came back and we could have been moved to an empty table about 30â away where we wouldnât have had to squint for the next 30 minutes. On the flip side, we had a business dinner which lasted five hours and the staff was OVERLY patient and didnât try to move us out. All in all, a very good experience.
