First time here, we have been by it dozens of times but never went there. So here is the review: Very nice clean Irish type pub. Beer is nice and cold. Food was great, service was great as well .Friends had the Shepard pie, I had the fried chicken and shrimp, and my wife had the corned beef brisket. All where GREAT!!!
It's a very old building so it has a mustiness about it, but once you're seated you don't notice it it's just at the door. The food is delicious as it has been for decades, and the service was quick and prompt. I wish I could give it five stars but paying $7 for using the parking lot because it was for 61 minutes should pretty much keep us from ever coming to downtown Wilmington again. That's a big rip off I'm trying to support businesses, but that's outrageous.
First time here and won't be the last! Prices are great and the food is on another level. I had steak, shrimp and broccoli and the wife had a barbecue burger with fries. All delicious. We figured with their bread pudding and.. Oh...em...gee!!!! Definitely the best I've had.
The steak and mashed potatoes were seasoned and cooked well. The waitstaff was a bit sneering, like I interrupted their day. Cold eyes, no smile, no warm welcome, no "how is your lunch?" Y'all need to work on these ladies' attitudes. Not coming back to Paddy's Hollow. I don't remember my server's name, but one server who I first saw told me to wait and that she had to do something first before seating me. Not in a friendly way. Then, after I got seated, the second server (there were only two) was not friendly either. Both brunettes. Weekday lunch.
Love this place that located at. Cotton Exchange in Wilimington, fresh food, friendly staff and great atmosphere, dog friendly on the outside patio. We will be back
Pub visually attractive. Was visiting from out of town and stopped with family for our traditional St. Patrick's Day meal. Couldn't have been more disappointed to find they had NO Irish dinners. No Shepards Pie, no corned beef and cabbage, nothing for a traditional Irish meal. We arrived about 2:30 in the afternoon ahead of the dinner crowd. The sandwich I had was just ok, my husband sent back his chicken tenders as his arrived burnt, my sister had the nachos and she did like them. Our waitress was pleasant.
Nice place and the food was good. Jay our server was also was also very good. However this Irish Pub was playing American pop music. It’s just not Irish without Irish music.
Great environment and friendly staff
We had a really nice lunch today at Paddy’s. Since we sat at the bar, we were fortunate enough to have terrific interaction with the bartender. Unfortunately we did not get his name; young man with a beard.
Our family recently came to Wilmington for a quick day trip, and we parked at Nutt St and did the River Walk around and started Googling places nearby for lunch. We needed a place with traditional American food and a kids menu along with some lean meat / healthy options. Paddy's had it all. Your eyes will adjust to the dimly lit atmosphere; they have recreated the Irish pub feel they are going for here. When it is not January, we want to return and sit outside to eat. I had the smoked turkey sandwich. I loved that they did not have mayo on it, and they held the cheese for me. I got double meat, and felt the price was very fair. I subbed steamed broccoli in place of fries. The flavor was amazing. Bread toasted just right! Wife had the chicken finger platter, loved it. Kid had Grilled Cheese and tater tots. They did have a juice option for kids drink and coloring sheet / crayons to entertain a kid while the food is prepared. Clean restrooms. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. We plan to come again.
