This is the second time in a row my order has been messed up when ordering from Nikki’s. I ordered last week and they didn’t give me one of my rolls. This week one of my rolls is completely wrong. I usually love Nikki’s but they’re definitely slacking these days. They just re-did their menu and it’s more expensive but even with the higher price they can’t get it right?? What’s going on guys??
The food was excellent, the sake was amazing, and the sushi was on point!!! I would have given it a 5 stars but unfortunately the waitresses were a little clumsy. One spilled soup on my wife's leg and the other spilled steak sauce on my shoes as she took our plates away. They just need to slow down a bit. It won't stop us from coming back though and updating our review to 5 stars in the future.
The only reason I’m going to give it even a 1 star is because the waitress was so sweet and kind but my daughter took me here for a belated Mother’s Day lunch I was excited for hibachi. We started out with a sushi appetizer roll it took almost thirty minutes to get it as she said they had a new chef. The waitress apologized and thats ok I can deal with that then we ordered two hibachi plates and she came and apologized because he misread the ticket so they were fixing it again ok. We get the food and only took three or four bites when my daughter noticed hair in her food. Not just one hair either there were several. Needless to say my appetite was ruined and the poor waitress was speechless when she saw. No manager on site she called him and he took off our hibachi plates but still. We are not one to complain as my daughter works now in the restaurant industry and I have worked in it but that’s unacceptable. We did make sure we tipped that sweet waitress though.
If I could give no stars I would. Save yourself the time and money and go to Tokyo 101. This place serves sushi that you would get at Walmart-super gross, tasteless and even the sauces are nasty. We waited 20 minutes to even get our order taken and there was hardly anyone and lots of staff. I could overlook that; but after waiting 50 minutes for our dinner and nobody checking on us to give us an update or refills-the sushi itself was so bad we left hungry and nauseous and it’s almost enough to turn you against sushi completely. This is some kind of American version fake sushi. Not Japanese sushi. So disappointed and a waste of money as this low quality sushi was expensive. We literally request sushi to be deep fried at other sushi restaurants and theyve never tasted like that. Not to mention the meat tasted like synthetic chewy alternative stuff or old. Also, they didn’t even top one of the rolls with tuna like it was supposed to be…since there are other people stating the same thing about the quality, I don’t think they can blame it on our “special request.” We were there at 9pm and didn’t get our food until the staff was cleaning and closing up.
I don't know what everyone else here is on about but this place sucks. Firstly sushi and steakhouse don't go together. Expect low quality sushi here that tastes worse than the stuff at Harris Teeter, for a similar price. The place is also dirty and smells like bathroom cleaning supplies. It's dark and the wallpaper is peeling off the walls. Service was slow and I will definitely not be coming back.Edit: No, I wasn't there tonight. But I was less than 2 weeks ago, so I'd say that's pretty fair. Unprofessional response
Not the worst food but not the best. It wasn’t good enough to draw me back in but it did the job. Not sure if I would revisit
Decided to give Nikki's a try, we live nearby and have never been. Soon as I walked in it felt dark and dreary, I just been outside in the sun and my mood was instantly changed by the interior and smell. It was not pleasant. It was 2 in the afternoon I did not see anyone else inside restaurant beside husband & I. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls. I thought maybe the food will be amazing and all this won't matter. Unfortunately, not the case. Food was average. My husband thought the sushi tasted the same as what he gets at Harris Teeter. Our waitress, Hannah must have been in a rush to get rid of us because she brings me a to go box while I'm still eating. Rude. And then the check. Does even speak as we leave. We were not impressed with Nikkis at all.
The food is always really good here. The Mojito is great. Hannah our server was great! The service is slow because EVERYONE IS SHORT STAFFED. There were only 2 servers and they did an amazing job!! Thank you!
Nikki's never disappoints! We've been multiple times and had great hibachi experiences and delicious, fresh sushi. The staff is awesome and service is fantastic. Highly recommend!
We ordered delivery and paid over $100 for 3 meals to be delivered. Only 2 meals arrived. Called restaurant and the person who answered phone wanted us to RECHECK the bag? REALLY? Like perhaps we are unable to discern the difference between 2 apples and 3 apples - YEP MATH WAS CORRECT AND ONLY 2 MEALS IN BAG. So then call was passed to another individual who blamed the delivery driver since this individual says THAT THEY PERSONALLY bagged our order and is certain they made NO mistake but let us know they were TAKING AWAY THE TIP FROM THE DELIVERY DRIVER??? HOW IS THAT JUSTICE? The delivery driver made NO error - all bags arrived sealed from the restaurant. Then this employee let us know they would also take off the charge of the missing meal? WHAT DID THAT SOLVE??? We still have a family member missing a meal AFTER spending over $100 AND WASTING A 1 HOUR WAIT. Perhaps we could reorder...hoping they get it tight this time and wait another hour and then the 2 family members could enjoy some cold food once the new order arrives. So after this NON solution was arrived upon, we called restaurant back and asked to speak with the manager or owner - the kind compassionate lady who answered the phone then proceeded TO HANG UP ON ME - OMG they have got such an amazing awareness of customer service. My family has spent well over $2000 at Nikkis over past 2 years on delivery, pick up, and dine in - BUT NEVER EVER AGAIN NOT ANOTHER COPPER PENNY WILL GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. With service like this Nikkis will soon join the Restaurant Boneyard of post covid establishments that went down for the count. ON A SIDE NOTE we called DoorDash and made arrangements to make sure the driver got tipped as mistake was NOT the drivers fault. NIKKIS UNDERWHELMED & OVERCHARGED AND A CUSTOMER LOST FOR LIFE ! ! !
