We love their burgers, fries and sweet tea! The service is always good and the waitress’s are friendly. We have eaten there for years. Hope they never stop toasting their bun! Reminds of the Old Toot N Tell It Drive In at Richlands NC
Merritt's is your classic drive up diner. It's your typical greasy spoon. Don't go there looking for vegetarian or vegan fate, you'll be SOL. Most everything is fried. You can buy 1/2 a chicken fried! They've been doing the same thing for 69 years and doing it well.
The homemade coleslaw is amazing. The shrimp burger was amazing. Very pleased.
Absolutely enjoyed every bit of my experience here. As a native Wilmingtonian, I'd actually never been here before, and the waitress said "shame on me" when I told her. I agreed. And thankfully this place was worth the wait. Old school NC flat-top grilled cheeseburger is about the tastiest thing in the world. I grew up on the other side of town and still live there, but I'll be back soon.
Classic drive-ins like have always been a great place to get a nostalgic bite to eat. Trays placed on your car window and a menu that hasn't change since they've opened let you know this place is a hidden gem and a local icon.
Food was great, service was a little slow but the parking lot was full so understandable.
The Merritt’s Burger House was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful for recommendations on what to order. It was my sister first time going to the restaurant. It’s like sonic drive in restaurants. The food was amazing we had two double burgers two fries and two drinks delicious.

Pull up, place order with staff, and have a tray at your car window in minutes. It's cheap, it's delicious, I recommend the hotdog all the way.. all the fixins.. loaded... lol depends on where you're from! Great seafood too!
Today I had the double cheeseburger with fries. The food was delicious, wish they did grilled onions but that's just my obsession with onions talking. It's got a sonic vibe where you wait in your car to be served without the do it yourself technology so have patients they'll get to you. My server was Melody I believe, she provided outstanding service and was moving quick from car to car, make sure you take care of her it isn't easy working outside taking care of people like that. Would definitely recommend this place, it was a bit of nostalgia reminding me of a few places from my childhood that have since closed.
