My husband and I had lunch at the Marina Grill, and were very impressed with the food and service. The server was personable and attentive, and patiently answered our questions about the menu. First, we both ordered cups of she-crab soup, which was creamy and flavorful. For our entrees, we ordered the shrimp tacos and the fish tacos, and we shared them. The sauce was amazing, and overall the tacos were very tasty. The quality of the food along with the friendly service and beautiful view made it a very positive experience for us both.
Stopped in for lunch with some friends. Had the she-crab soup and Farm to Fork salad. Great tasting but I wished the soup was hotter. Great service.
Our first evening in Wilmington and as usual looking for Gluten Sensitive options, which in a city full of seafood is not difficult. Marina Grill is a conveniently located restaurant on the marina of course. We chose to eat inside since the weather was a bit iffy, but they have great outside covered dining. Inside dining is as expected with a bar, so a touch noisy but relaxing. Food and service is amazing. Menu is well marked with GF and GFO. For the gluten sensitive in our party we chose the Blackened Tuna, and added a caeser salad without croutons. Caeser Salad was generous portion with fresh romaine and excellent dressing. The Blackened Tuna was perfectly cooked and had great flavor and was accompanied by coconut rice and normal side of asparagus, both great options. I did swap my asparagus for crispy Brussels. Server warned me that they were fried with items containing gluten so was very aware of the diet. I opted anyway and they were delicious as well. The non gluten sensitive of my party enjoyed the Shrimp Grits. Definitely a location to try in Wilmington. As a warned to any Celiac, I did not ask about preparation so please ask before you go about contamination.
The food was soooo amazing. The portion size was well more than I expected. My plate does no justice as I had already started eating lol. The view is amazing! The waitress was on point with refills! Overall it was a great experience. It was also within walking distance of the hotel!
Took my girlfriend for dinner…. the atmosphere was very conducive for quiet conversation. Our waitress Sara gave us quick service but left us to have a quiet dinner alone.
The atmosphere was wonderful the food was delicious but most of all our waitress Sara was very attentive. She was quick to offer refills on our drinks as well as remembering what each person had. We will be sure to go there again and of course ask for Sara to be our waitress. Service was quick and as I said food was delicious
Ate brunch at Marina Grill. We were seated quickly and had a great view of the marina. Our waitress was nice and got our drink order and food order quickly. The food was prepared good. The seasoning was on the low side. All ingredients seemed fresh. After our drinks were given to use, we had to ask for refills twice, our waitress didn’t come to check on us until it was time for the check. They forgot one of our side dishes and brought it out after we were done eating. It’s a pretty restaurant and bar, with a great view.
First the good. Hush puppies were actually great. Fish was good. Now the rest. Fries were trash. Crab cake sandwich was disgusting and came with, surprise, surprise, a spectacular case of diarrhea. Bathrooms were nasty and stunk badly. Seat in the booth was ripped and the table was damaged. All of which was trumped by the absolutely awful service from our waitress who clearly hated her job and her customers. Turns out that was a gift as we watched the bartender play with her hair non-stop between every drink she made. The person we suspected was the manager sat at the end of the bar constantly sneezing, wiping her eyes and nose and bossing the staff around. At that point we basically stopped eating and, while we waited for waitress to come around so we could finally get the check and GTFO there, we played a game of how many staff are touching their faces, hair, scratching their legs, noses, ears without washing their hands. Guess how many? All of them. This place is a health hazard and should be shut down. Stay away.
This is a hidden gem. We have visited Wilmington on several occasions and did not know this gem existed. There was a wait due to the time but once seated the food was great. Our wait was made easier by the live band/concert. Our hostess was wonderful and the manager (Ms. Amanda) gave us a table side visit and she was a delight. Love her authenticity. Thanks for the table side fellowship. We will definitely return. The Marina did not disappoint.
This was 3rd time coming here and the last time. The first two times were fantastic. This one, awful. Sat at the bar. Wasn't greeted by anyone, all I received was "drinking or eating"? Food came out fast but it wasn't too busy at the time. The young lady that took my order never offered a refill, but thankfully another person did offer and supply the refill. The bar service area reminded me of a high-school cafeteria table. While the cool kids were talking, I sat there waiting for service. The departure wasn't any good either. After waiting 8-10 minutes while various workers walked past me and began talking to the couple who were seated at the end of the bar for the 3rd straight day (their words) I was finally asked if I wanted a refill. I declined and asked for a box and check. After my card was charged it was brought back to me along with the check, dropped off, without any acknowledgment of my existence or my business. For the first time in my life, I did not leave a tip. If I may suggest, the employees should wear name tags. No idea who served me, in this case, who didn't serve me. Highly disappointed.
