We were staying at a hotel near us and we had a dog so it limited us in being able to go to alot of restaurants, however, this one recommended by the hotel, worked out well for us, great selections, easy order and pick up - we walked over. The food was great, good portions, enjoyed the meal. They did though forget our crab she soup which we were looking forward to trying, we were going to go back but, a bit of hassle and we wanted to eat... Look forward to dining in on our next visit.
JohnnyLukes is a must go if you’re in Wilmington, NC! The food, the service and the ambiance made for a perfect spot to gather with a good group of friends. We loved it so much we went for dinner and brunch while in town!
We had a great meal here! There are 2 levels to this restaurant: bottom level is fine casual, and the top level has a sports bar vibe with outdoor seating that serves the same food. Would highly recommend upstairs! Fun music playing, and there is a good selection of local craft beers available. Food was tasty, and I'd definitely come back!
The house chopped salad was delicious! It was fresh, and it had lots of delicious things in it. The blue cheese dressing was good too.The baked brie in puff pastry with the mixed berry and jalapeno berry jam was really good. That's was probably one of the best I've ever had. I also liked the thin sliced pear and apple slices.
Mini review: #johnnylukes was - and I emphasize “was” one of our go to restaurants in the past. We spent many a dinner hour trying different appetizers, entrees, handhelds, and desserts from their enormous menu - they have three menus - a wine list, lunch/dinner, and “handhelds.”Tonight was different. The place was a raucous din of chatty diners - it was hard to carry on a conversation with all the noise while we waited for our dinners - and we waited, and waited, and waited some more. Finally, a hostess came to our table to inform us that they “ignored” our order in the kitchen and it would be a while until the orders arrived. They offered us a “free dessert,” and when we suggested they take a few dollars off the tab instead (we really weren’t that hungry), they laughed. When the orders finally arrived, the burgers were seriously over cooked, the French fries soggy and tasteless, and to add insult to injury, the ketchup bottle on the table was nearly empty. We figured if we waited any longer for the server to come by the table again, we would all be growing beards, so we squeezed what we could out of the bottle and hurried down our meals. When the server was ready to bring the check, we again suggested a few dollars off the bill as compensation, and, again, we were met with disdain.I imagine it will be a long time before we venture back to this establishment.
Went here for a birthday dinner. The food was great as well as the atmosphere. I had the stuffed flounder with mushroom Risotto and a salad. I was very impressed with the salad, lots of toppings. The ranch had a little bit of a spice kick, but was tolerable in my opinion. My husband had the Ribeye steak with Mac and cheese. It was cooked perfectly and the Mac and cheese was delicious. They have a really great chef, our friends say the food is awesome every time they come and they've been coming for a couple of years now. We will definitely eat here again!
We live in Wilmington and this is a go-to place when we want sort of home cooking food. I love their burgers and chicken pot pie. Always served hot and always tastes good.
Maybe it was the great waiter we had but the food was delicious. The crab cakes were to die for along with the braised short ribs. If in Wilmington don't miss this Kitchen-bar. That is what they call it.
This place is a must if you are in the area. Easy to get to off College and Market. The staff is great and recommended some of their favorite foods and atmosphere is really laid back. The food.....so GOOD! We tried different items and they were all great. Brunch on Sunday seems to be a must too! Can't wait to come back!!!
Upon entering my husband and I we’re greeted with a smile from Hostesses who were very friendly. Downstairs was charming but we asked to be seated upstairs. As we checked in with a hostess upstairs I was greeted with such a welcoming smile from several staff members (almost as if they personally knew us).Sunday Brunch is a must! Food very tasty! Our waiter was amazing and was so attentive. We will be back!
