Was once one of my favorite BBQ places. The service has become a lot less friendly, though they get a pass because of COVID. The food however isn't as good. The pork is dry, the Mac and cheese bland. I hope this is just a temporary thing, as this restaurant has been around forever, for a good reason.

You can always count on Jackson's for great BBQ and a lot of food at reasonable prices. Our BBQ was very good and we always like trying out a sauce or two on some of the pork. The Black eyed peas and hush puppies were nice, tasty sides. The sweet tea was top notch, and they have a surprising large selection of pies, of which I had the Key Lime pie at only $3.99. And then there's that historic 400+ year old majestic oak tree in the back.

Really good bbq. Everyone was nice... The fried chicken, Smoked chicken, greens, mac and cheese were all really good. My only negative, is that they use spare ribs and Sweet baby rays sauce. Na, not feeling that at all. I can make that at home, and far better than they did, tbh

I guess I've been spoiled by a BBQ in Hernando Florida. The flavors were good, I just didn't care for the tough meat on my ribs. Corn fritters okay, okra good. I would try others before going back.

They have an early bird special between lunch and dinner. The fried chicken and pulled pork were excellent! First time having NC style pulled pork and was thoroughly impressed by the vinegar style pulled pork! The mac and cheese was amazing as well. The hush puppies were delightful! The fried corn bread, fried okra and corn nuggets were good, but I got fried food fatigue after a few bites. Not from NC so maybe that is why. The sweet tea was definitely sweet, but after a bite of the peach cobbler, the tea didn't taste sweet anymore ?! Great prices! I would definitely go again, but order unfried sides because the hush puppies and fried corn bread come with each meal. The fried okra didn't come out well, so the server got us some extra corn nuggets and fried us up a fresh batch! Served hot to the table!

First time here today and I’ve never had better bbq. Such nice service from the takeout window and super quick too! Sweet tea is delicious and the corn nuggets are so good too!! Also only $20 for two huge portions, drinks, and sides!! Will definitely be back asap

Love this place. It's our go to every time we visit Wilmington. The BBQ and fried chicken is delicious and so are the sides. Friendly service as well. Great prices and gracious portions.

We went to Jackson’s for a late lunch yesterday, and got a bunch of family meals to go to sit outside by the picnic tables… I really loved the pulled pork with the vinegar based barbecue sauce – one of the best sauces I’ve ever had in my life. And that is no exaggeration! I also really like the coleslaw, which was yellow, a unique experience for me and my family from Ohio. We also tasted the collard greens, with a little bit of vinegar splashed on them, and that was decent to say the least. Our cousin was riding around on the back parking lot, and slipped on some leaves, I wish the restaurant with clean up their leaves. Just kidding! Restaurants don’t need to worry about leaves.

Even with the Covid situation, these folks have managed to stay open and get out that great food. While many places have shuttered under the pressure of change, the people at Jackson’s have adjusted, retooled, and catered to those of us used to the food, service and staff.......go Kim!!

Always delicious Carolina BBQ. Must try.
