What a great spot! The food is good and is an excellent value, and there’s a variety of entertainment as well. There are lots of tvs, arcade games, and a large indoor pirate ship playground for kids. It was a perfect lunch spot for my family today!
My family had a negative experience at Islands Fresh Mex Grill. When we went to Islands back in February, we definitely had a positive experience and wanted to return.My wife, her parents, and three of my kids went to Islands to order food while I stayed at home with our toddler. Let me first state the positives:The atmosphere for the kids is quite nice. There is a playground shaped like a ship and also an arcade which the kids enjoyed.I ordered a steak fajita burrito, which was brought to me at home and I was satisfied with it.Now for the rest:My mother-in-law placed a mobile order at 1:15. She received a text saying that the order would be ready at 1:32. Around 1:42, my family was told that the food would be ready in 5 minutes. It was finally ready around 1:50.Once the food arrived, there were several things that were not correct:Both of the kids meals were missing. My mother-in-law ordered the Islander salad without sour cream and island sauce, but the salad had both. When she reported the issues, she was given a replacement salad, which had fresh jalapeños but was missing cheese, pineapple, and cilantro, and had almost no chicken. My wife ordered nachos, but they were cold and missing queso.All of these issues resulted in a frustrating dining experience.
The food is good. I was disappointed in how much I was charged for "the side" of guacamole you see in the picture. It was not a side.
Have never been here until 6/4/22. Arrived around 7:30pm. Ordered Islander salad without sour cream. Absolutely terrible. The rice was crunchy. I felt like it was dry from sitting out too long. The chicken wasn't grilled but some sort of ground chicken so you couldn't even tell it was chicken. The salad was tasteless & watery. The restaurant had plenty of tables available but most of them hadn't been cleaned. The drink/utensil station was dirty. The trash cans were overflowing. The staff interaction was sub-par as well. Definitely would not return, at least to this location.
Best Islands location in the Wilmington area. We live in Monkey Junction near an Islands and still drive to the Ogden location since we have been disappointed with the quality at the other locations. At this location, the workers are courteous and take their time making your meal and the ingredients always taste fresh!
Like always, the were great! Have officially ate at all 3 and they all equally were great! I love that you can put your own toppings and it is affordable and fresh!
Placed an order for pickup at 5:30 for 6:15, arrived at 6:10. Food was cold and definitely made when the order was placed and not fresh for my pick up time. Queso was grainy like sand. Burrito had hard clumps of rice in it making it crunchy and there were things in it not asked for. I've never had this experience here and definitely will never order for pickup again.
The guy making our food used his hands instead of utensils. The lettuce was full of water. Overall it was OK. I will not go again. Kids liked the play area.
I don’t want to completely bash this place, I like the idea of modernizing Mexican food, but this isn’t it. When your wife says she wants Mexican for lunch, DO NOT come here, she doesn’t want this, you don’t want this lol. This is like a mixture of cicis pizza with chipotle, but with country music, smelly spoiled shrimp, a kids play ground, and alcohol! The employees are nice, but the food quality/taste just isn’t there. The chicken quesadilla was fine, I will play some of the games here, but no I will probably not come back. ??♂️ Does John Taffer still do Bar Rescue??
My favorite islands in town and ever! Food is always fresh and good and employees are super friendly and helpful. The main draw is the play area with a wooden boat for the littles! My son is 3 and he LOVES this place and it gives me a little break to eat my taco salad uninterrupted.More places need this in Wilmy. Gracias guys!
