Food was amazing!! We started with oysters, shrimp and mussels. All delicious! HIGHLY recommend the seafood stew! Our waitress was extremely helpful. Can’t wait to come back.
We went with a family of 6. Our bill was $326 after the deduction for bad shrimp, this included the gratuity. It’s automatic for parties of 6 or more. We ordered 2 of the seafood platters for two and added crab. The shrimp was undercooked on both, almost raw, the clams and oysters were over cooked. The crab was good. The platter comes unseasoned and they give you dry seasoning to put on it, the corn and potatoes were soggy and bland. It was AWFUL. Another person in our party ordered the pound of peel and eat steamed shrimp which was over cooked. She ate half and left the rest. I told the waitress about the undercooked shrimp and she took 21$ off of our bill. Very disappointing to say the least. I don’t mind spending money on quality food but when almost everything is sub par and you can’t even eat it there is no excuse. Also, it is dangerous with the undercooked shrimp on both platters mixed in with all of the other seafood on the plate. Please be cautious when eating here.
My son and I stopped here for lunch after touring the Battleship North Carolina. When planning our trip, I looked for restaurant recommendations in the Wilmington subreddit. This place is recommended by locals and it did not disappoint. Our server was attentive, and our food was very good. I had the NC grouper with lobster bisque. My son got chicken tenders and said they were very good. The general manager stopped by and checked on us too. I heard the server tell another table that the owner is also normally there a lot.
From the peel ‘n eat shrimp to mahi & grouper, everything was fresh and delicious! Great service and casual atmosphere! Really enjoyed!
This Family Owned and Operated Restaurant is outstanding and great Staff on point nothing on the drink side went empty ever. Food was Outstanding . When you come to Carolina for vacation it's a must stop and eat . I was sent here by a family member of the thee owners and will forever promote this Restaurant A++.
This place is really really good. Ordered Take out during my stay in the area and when I got there the place was packed.I ordered a stuffed flounder, shrimp and grits, and clam chowder. Im not a shrimp and grits person but it was good. Id order it again. Everything was good. It's a simple statement but everything I ordered was good. Cooked exceptionally well and seasoned well. The clam chowder is solid. Rich, flavorful and fresh. Make sure you order it when you're there.
Excellent restaurant for the overall taste and value that we have experienced in the Wilmington area! Nice, local seafood vibe on the inside but we were blown away by the quality of the fresh fish. It was perfectly cooked and accompanied with some creamy coleslaw and lightly fried zucchini sticks! Dessert is not pictured because we brought home a scrumptious key lime parfait! A local baker does all their desserts!! The waiter was very friendly and prompt too!
Our dinner was FABULOUS Shelby was a fantastic server and everything was amazing we will definitely return when we are in the area
Today was our first time eating at Fish Bites. Everything was wonderful and our server was great. Top notch food prepared perfectly.
Fishbites was my go to in Wilmington for Many years , very friendly with excellent food. Around two years ago the manager and all around great guy Johnny left, along with Jay a terrific server and several others. The atmosphere of the restaurant changed dramatically, the staff were no longer engaging and stopping trying to build relationships with their client base. In fact I have no idea who the manager currently is after visiting several times. I’ve never been greeted or had them stop by the table and see how we were doing … nothing . The food is still very good , I just miss the the bond and caring attitude the old staff had with there customer base.
