The food was pretty good! However the waitress was nice and full of smiles but was slightly offensive. Was there on business and my co worker asker how many crab legs you get with a particular order. Instead of just the answer to the question, she gave her the price and said I just wanted you to know how much it cost first. As of to say she couldn't afford it. It was a beautiful scenery as we were right there by the water! The potatoes were a little undercooked for my taste but the fish was amazing! I would go back again if visiting the area.
You got two stars because of our waitress today doing a fantastic job around 4:30-5pm. I won't be back because the food is hit and miss. The owner apparently owns or helps run businesses in this small stretch but nothing is ever open or available. Also, as for today, my medium burger was half cooked and half raw. The. The kicker, which would get you in major trouble is the plastic you put in my soup. If you're going to serve 2-3 day old soup, you can at least make sure someone's not going to get hospitalized because of it. We won't be back.
Food was very good - we shared a crab stuffed shrimp dish with a nice wild rice and veggies (beans) side. Big chunks of crab, well-seasoned with Old Bay. All local draft beer choices. No mint for a Mohito, but this is common. Veggies done perfectly. Shrimp not overdone. In general, best dish of this type we have enjoyed at the shore. Server was great. Setting is my vision of a riverside, outside, covered venue. Hadn’t eaten here in many years, but will go back. We even had a seaplane land on the river in front of us for some entertainment!
Our favorite place downtown! Loved being able to dine outside on the riverfront. We had 2 excellent servers for each visit. The food is amazing. Highly recommend the crab cakes and the mahi linguini.
A great hangout to watch people on the boardwalk while having a good bottle of wine and seafood. Very clean place with disinfectant available. Our waitstaff (GRACE) did an excellent job.........she'll need a raise !!!
My husband and I were flying to Wilmington from New York to visit family memorial day weekend including an elderly relative who is not doing so well. We had 630 dinner reservations for eight of us and our flight was supposed to get in at 3:30 so we thought we had plenty of time. Well our flight was delayed for hours and I told the family to go ahead and eat without us and we would catch up with them after dinner. The folks at Elijah’s were nice enough to let them hold a table and sit there until we arrived at 8. Everyone else had already eaten their dinner and dessert by the time we arrived but we were able to order our dinner which they brought with lightning speed, which was really appreciated since we were famished. The food was fantastic. The service was great. But most of all I am so grateful that they were so accommodating. We hadn’t seen our family in a long time and it was a very special reunion. Thank you so much, Elijah’s. You really made our weekend!
We went for lunch & elected to sit inside as they only had a few tables with Umbrellas & they were all taken, Pilot House next door has much more outside seating. We ordered fried platters, one bay scallops & one oyster. The menu said they are served with slaw & fries. When they came one had slaw & the other had none & the slaw was more of a decoration, served in a condiment cup like the cocktail sauce is served in, less than 1/4 cup not the normal serving other places serve with a platter. The scallops, oysters, fries & the little serving of slaw did taste good & service was good with a serving of slaw quickly brought out for the platter that didn’t have it.
Met friends here for a wonderful dinner to catch up. The oysters are still great, and the crab cakes full of big pieces of crab with just the right amount of filler to hold it all together. The cake was so tasty, a perfect ending to a great meal. Nice venue on the waterfront with lovely views. Outside dining was a bit too hot, so we had our meal inside next to the windows, still lovely views.
We saw their ad in a local travel magazine at the hotel we were staying at and thought we would try them out. We even called on Wednesday to ask about their 1/2 price oysters - raw. There was no mention of a certain time you had to be at the restaurant in the ad or to the person we spoke with. However, we were seated at 6:30 p.m. and ordered the raw oysters, our waitress came back to the table and said the 1/2 price is over it's from 4- 6 p.m., we said we called and saw the ad and there was no mention of time frame, she said oh well. The appetizer of the raw oysters and the oyster rockefeller was excellent, although waitress forgot to bring the crackers and hot sauce. The entree's were okay, I would stay away from the steak sandwich, was very tough meat, even though it is supposed to be prime rib. The setting is very nice. Just very disappointed with the ad and it not being honored, very deceptive.
Reasonable and GOOD FOOD! Beautiful atmosphere by the Cape Fear River. Waitress (Brittany B) was prompt, professional, and attendant to our needs. Would highly recommend and would go back if I'm in the area again!! I give it an A+!
