Our experience here every time is wonderful, from the service to the food. It is our favorite Mexican restaurant, and we live in Cary, NC so we make a point to go here each time we go to the beach which is often since we have family there. Would highly recommend!! Food is awesome, always seated quickly and everyone there is so nice!
Staff was very friendly and we got seated quickly. The food was very good and their green and red hot sauces were really great. A little hard to see the sign but glad we found them. And the prices were reasonable.
I love it here. Food 100, Service 100, Atmosphere 100! I am definitely a regular. I feel at home here and it's the only restaurant where I know I will literally be eating hot delicious food within literally minutes of sitting down! Definitely my favorite place to eat and work within a 10 mile radius of my house,
Pretty average even for an average Mexican restaurant. The staff was attentive and the restaurant was clean, despite being very busy. The food was pretty much what you can expect from most any other Mexican restaurant. So if that's what you want, this will work out well for you. Just don't expect super fresh or unique dishes.
This is our go to dinner spot at least once a week. I used to think a family restaurant meant that it was a good place for families with children to go. While it is a good place for families to go, family restaurant for us means that here, they treat you like family. If you want a quick, in and out meal, they’ve got you. If you want to chill out with some drinks and chat while getting to know the staff, they’ve also got you. The food never disappoints and is very consistent. Drinks are great! Have Luiz/Charlie make you a Paloma, they are fantastic. If you want a good, quality meal, excellent service and an all around great dining experience, give this place a try. It won’t disappoint. Shout out to the entire staff that treats us so well every time we visit.
We have such a great time visiting this restaurant. Great food, great service and very very friendly staff. We are always pleased with the excellent quality of the dishes they serve and the friendly service they provide. Highly recommend trying them out!
When you go here for Dinner..Ask for a "Large" Margarita... Fresh lime, great taste and the salted rim all make it authentic as it gets .... but you will be awed by the new meaning of large... I truly think you will be happy with just one... And as for the food, its great.... Try the Fajita's as the presentation was nice!!! All the sizzle and great aroma of fun food...
Absolutely the best Mexican food in town. We love El Cerro Monkey Junction. Junior and staff make it a special dining experience. We truly feel like family every time we eat there. It’s our go to place for all our celebrations and date nights.
I have been going to El Cerro since I was kid with my parents and the food and service has always been top notch. I've never been disappointed with anything I've tried. Can't recommend enough.
If it's not a busy time you might wonder where the restaurant is and whether they're open, but curb appeal is not what draws the locals. Inside, the pleasing interior and properly curated Latin music welcome guests to the type of authentic Mexican-American experience that tourists only find if they're lucky. Great food? Yes. See pictured fajitas, steak & shrimp platter, and flan for two. Proper queso? Oh, yes. And portioned just right for two people. All the right beers are on tap, and served in a beer mug so massive my usually grumpy Brit is genuinely satisfied. As for the margaritas, let me say that only the experienced drinker is up for the large size. Get a medium (pictured next to my *wallet*) if you have the luxury to leave inebriated. Otherwise, ask for something small. And don't forget we're now adding 5% to our regular tip to help wait staff through Covid.
