The jade and pearl is a delicious combination (asparagus and scallops) that I never would have thought of.
We tried this place on a whim because our favorite spot for Chinese take-out was closed. We did not regret it! The food and the customer service were both excellent. And don't let the strip mall location put you off. When you walk inside, the place has some lovely ambiance.
Great service, food is goid, ample portions. Prices are pretty good.
Ordered some takeout online. Got the twice cooked pork and Mongolian beef w/bok choy. Email said the food would be ready at 5:36; got there ten minutes early and it was sitting on the counter already. Recommend you get there early to make sure you get your food when it’s fresh off the cooktop. Twice cooked pork was excellent and the Mongolian beef was good.
Excellent standard fare, great atmosphere. Clientele tend to be a bit relaxed, but we are a beach community. Typical Chinese family business, husband, wife, uncle, kids, all working tables or kitchen. We tend to purchase enough for two meals, so true cost is about $12 per dish.
We just had dinner at Double Happiness Chinese Restaurant on Wrightsville in Wilmington. My wife had the firecracker chicken; I had the Dry-Wok chicken. We both chose the medium spicy sauce. Both meals were EXCELLENT! The chicken tasted so fresh! The vegetables were crisp! You could tell none of it came from a pan sitting in a steam table. Will return every chance we get! Fyi-our daughter loved the sesame chicken; her husband was more adventurous and went for the Shacha, Shacha shrimp. Much spicier but he really enjoyedit! The young granddaughters split the tangerine chicken and really liked it. Highly recommend the Double Happiness! Skip those restaurant chains offering “ Asian” cuisine. This is the real deal!
Every time I’ve ordered from this location it has been phenomenal. I’m a huge fan of spicy dishes & the Dry Wok Chicken hits the spot each time. I recently made an order online and wrote “Make it spicy, I want to cry” and as tears (and sweat) roll down my face, I can say they were successful!Always extremely flavorful and great quality. 100% worth the extra cost for a premium meal.
Best Chinese in Wilmington. Full stop. Period. Mongolian beef, Firecracker chicken, Orange peel beef, dumplings. Wow.
This was at their Odgen location. The selection and quality of food is exceptional and authentic. The restaurant clean and welcoming, and their customer service was top notch. The only reason I did not love it was due to the soups being (in my opinion) lacking in flavor. I am not looking for chicken or beef broth salty flavor, but the flavor profiles were very weak and simple. To be fair only tried two, wonton and egg drop with spinach, and sides may vary from time to time. Will definitely be ordering again!
In my opinion this food is over rated a bit. My General Tso's chicken was overcooked severely to the point I did not eat it. I did not call to complain so I have no comments on how they would have handled the situation.
