My hubby and I had gotten word of this place through some friends and decided to stop in while running errands. We were greeted by the young man behind the counter warmly and he explained the entire menu to us. He was super friendly and we were already hooked. We both ordered number 3s medium & I got a side of Mac and cheese. Our food came quickly and hot. It was SO GOOD. The seasoning is excellent, the chicken very crispy and breaded perfectly, and the Dave's sauce is bomb. I couldn't finish mine and hubby felt like being rolled out of there. Be warned, these are NOT sliders, they are full on sandwiches. ?Such a great experience, we will be back... Maybe even for dinner.
This was our first time here today and it won’t be our last! Everything was so flavorful and the staff was super friendly! We loved the chicken!!! Such a smart idea to place a piece of bread in the box to soak up moisture! We live 25 min a way and the chicken was still crispy when we got home!
Stop here on a whim and glad we did. Very limited menu which can be good and bad but we didn’t mind. The chicken sliders were a nice size. 1 slider was the size of a typical chicken sandwich. I got the medium sauce which was equivalent to hot but it was still tasty. Service was great and food came out fast.
The Staff was phenomenal The food was very good but the young lady that took our order was awesome , all around a good time
Wasn’t all that great, food was salty, and smelled like armpit. Chicken was tough and hard to eat through as if it weren’t cooked, I couldn’t even eat it. $16 for non sense.
I was looking forward to trying this place because I'm a big fan of spicy chicken. I got the #1, which is 2 fried tenders, fries, bread, pickles and Dave's sauce. I got mine tossed in medium because I saw warnings from other reviewers. The #1 meal is $11.99, plus another $1.99 for a fountain drink or tea. Maybe these prices are on par for LA, but not here in NC. The tenders were decent sized, but I'd expect at least 1 more for this price. For the tender spice, I was expecting a version of buffalo, and this was definitely not it. Their spice/seasoning mix is reminiscent of Indian curry flavor. Medium is definitely all I could handle, and I like spicy stuff. The bread was just that--plain bread. Not grilled, toasted, buttered, nothing. Dave's sauce is pretty good, and the fries were really good, and I liked the seasoning. Overall, the 3 stars is mostly for the pricing. The flavor was not what I expected, but I like Indian food, so it was good. But others may not like that seasoning mix. In the end, $13.98 is too much to pay for a couple chicken tenders, fries and a drink.
I was so excited to hear Dave's Hot Chicken finally came to North Carolina. They did NOT disappoint! The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and super flavorful (not just heat for heat's sake) ?? I will be back, a lot.
A solid 4 stars. I’ll definitely give them “best fast food chicken place” in town. We just tried it for lunch. Initially thought the prices were high, but after receiving our meals, we way over ordered. The “sliders” are the size of a normal lunch portion chicken sandwich; one is plenty for one person. If we had known the sizing, we would have ordered less and it would be reasonable pricing. The chicken was good; we really liked the hot level. My toddlers loved the chicken and the Mac n cheese. I did feel like we waited a good bit for our order to come up (10-12 minutes), which seemed like a long time for fast food. However, the meals did seem fresh and they were very (temperature) hot. We’ll be back! My advice is order less than you think you need, hot level is good, and don’t be in a hurry.
Almost didn’t go because some of the bad reviews, but I’m so glad I did. It’s not dirt cheap, but neither are a lot of the places in Wilmington of similarity. This isn’t bojangles. The serving size was HUGE. I definitely had leftovers. The Mac n cheese was delicious as was the sauce. It was so crispy and juicy. Ordered online and it was ready promptly when I got there. No complaints here. The extra hot is… well…. Very hot. But so good.
If you look at the reviews with pictures they were posed by employees and owners .This place just opened and they obviously didn't do any research about Wilmington food prices inside look at the menu prices for what you get and walked right back outside $14 for two tiny chicken tender sandwiches and french fries is ridiculous. Place was empty when I walked in now I know why probably some guy who thinks he has the best chicken recipe in the world and can overcharge people for it I believe once people have eaten there once they won't return the food is just too expensive for what you get
