Service & atmosphere were good, but pricey for lunch. I spent $24 for a grilled cheese sandwich, regular cheese fries, can of coke & a bottled water. I decided to spilt the food with my child because I just couldn't see spending even more money. I was also disappointed to see can drinks instead of fountain drinks and tea. The food was very good, but not sure I'd come back due to price.
Everything was delicious and worth the hour long drive! I love supporting local businesses. I’ll definitely be back!
Had them before food truck amazing and did not disappoint. 5 stars excellent!!!!
Okay, I’m not a big grilled cheese person at all. But I LOVE the sandwiches at Cheesesmith. They’re so flavorful, and they pair phenomenally well with their soups and beer cheese fries. Definitely check them out in the Cargo District!
Cheese Smith is an amazing local Wilmington restaurant! The grilled cheese are so delicious and worth every penny! You aren't getting your regular run of the mill grilled cheese! These sandwiches are decadent and the parmesan french fries are so delicious! Go visit this awesome local restaurant you won't be disappointed!
Really cool atmosphere, easy ordering process, friendly staff, and they bring your order to your table. The food was Amazing! Parking may be the only issue, especially during the day because they do not have a designated parking lot (at least that I saw), so you'll have to find street parking. Ever with that issue though, we will Definitely be coming back again!
It is excellent place for a sandwich and soup. A fabulous place to visit
Heard a lot of good things about this place and was super excited to try it for the first time. I really don’t know how their rating is as high as it is given my experience a few days ago. Came in on a Sunday night and a few of the tables were taken but it was by no means busy. We waited several minutes for our order to be taken even though there was no one in front of us which was a mild annoyance. After we finally were able to place our orders we went and sat down and began to wait for the food. We waited nearly 45 minutes for our order to come out, 2 grilled cheeses and an order of cheese fries should not take 45 minutes. Once we got our food it wasn’t even hot, just warm at best. And the quality of the sandwiches wasn’t at all what we were expecting. If you’re only going to sell grilled cheeses and fries they should probably be pretty good, especially for the prices they’re selling them at. Staff was not very friendly either. We asked for a box before leaving and the young lady who took our order made sure to finish whatever she was doing on her phone, while we stood there waiting, before accommodating us. If you’re craving a grilled cheese just go ahead and make one yourself at home, it will be better, a fraction of the price, and at least hot.
I love grilled cheese and this place did NOT disappoint. It was my first time here so I got the OG and tomato soup. The soup was thick and delicious and the OG has this tomato jam was was so good! I'll for sure be coming here again to try even more of the food and beers on tap. A must stop if your in Wilmington!!!
CheeseSmith is awesome. My favorite sandwiches are the Maple Bacon (pictured here) and the Black & Blue. My favorite side is the Brussel sprouts. They are so crispy and the flavor is amazing! Best brussel sprouts in town hands down. Is it a bit overpriced, particularly considering the location and the residents in the local area? Yes, but it is worth the price now and then. Lunch (sandwich, side, and soda) cost me $22 including tip which is definitely a splurge.
