This place is not like it used to be when it opened. Others have told us to not go but we are locals and knew the restaurant well. But little did we know how the evening would go. I was pleased with the host and we sat on the patio. We brought a little toy dog and no one told us it was not a pet-friendly environment. We have gone to other Mellow Mushrooms (Myrtle Beach, Wilmington, and CA) and they were pet friendly. We did not realize it was up to other locations to be pet friendly or not. Several workers realized we had a pet and no one said anything but provided praises about our dog. Then our waitress came, which took forever for her to come. I could feel her energy that she would not be a good one. She took our order and when she came back she stated that the next time we come back no pet is allowed. I was taken away by that. We were outside on the patio and not near anyone and it was a small (toy) dog. When she walked away I told my husband you know what this place does not have the right energy and the waitress just made it worse. First, she was not friendly, second, she was a smart mouth when I explained the type of order I wanted, and finally, it was how she got smart about the pet. So we just got our order to go and I must say the pizza was horrible. The quality and preparation and ingredients just didn't come together right. We will listen hard the next time friends say stay away. People should be reminded that the presentation is not only about the food but about the people that work for them. This will be our last time. So thank you "SC"(her initials) on 7/1/2022 you waited on us. Hopefully, your presentation will be awesome with the future guests because you were horrible with us.
Always excellent service at this location. We have been here probably a dozen times over the last few years, often new people serving it seems, but all the servers are friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. We are creatures of habit ... two of us with a half-order of soft pretzels and beer cheese (the pretzels are awesome. Beer cheese last night was way off - not sure what was wrong - but usually it is exceptional), cold beers (always super cold - yay!), and then the Mighty Meaty pizza (our hands-down favorite, lots of toppings, incredible crust) as our main course.
Saturday afternoon for a quick bite. Seated immediately by a very friendly hostess. For a Saturday lunchtime the restaurant was busy but not crowded.Drink orders were promptly taken and filled. We ordered a gluten free pepperoni pizza and a steak and cheese hoagie. While it did take about 30 minutes to get our food, it was worth the wait.Gluten free crust is hit or miss when you eat out but Mellow delivers with this one. The steak and cheese was great as well and both dishes were served fresh and hot.Probably not a place if you are in a hurry but if you have a bit of extra time, I would definitely recommend it.
LOVE their pizza. If you want to order for pickup on a busy night, though, plan to wait, even if you order ahead. Maybe could be a little better organized. It's a bit pricey, but the staff is always friendly.
We ordered a gluten free pizza and it was great! They pay attention to gluten free orders due to allergies and are sensitive to that. My child, who has gluten allergies really liked their pizza and enjoyed it. Thank you!
I ordered a sub, which was good. Salad was extremely overpriced for what you got. My wife and I split a large salad that was $8.95 and it may have had 25 cents of ingredients in it. Ordered cinnamon and honey pretzels for dessert, they are baked from pizza dough. Really enjoyed those. Wait staff was attentive and friendly.
Coming from NY. I can honestly say Mellow Mushroom definitely is upto Par. Their Pizza was delicious down to the crust. Their Wings well Delicious as well. Well cooked and seasoned. The service was great, very attentive. And we also like the atmosphere.

We took my in-laws here for lunch. They had never been before and were craving pizza. As always I was not disappointed the pretzels bites were superb and the pizza was amazing. You can tell the ingredients are always fresh. I recommend anyone who is looking for a good pizza thi is a must
Let me say up front that we like Mellow Mushroom pizza. We ordered a medium pizza and two small salads for carry out on Wednesday, March 2, online at 6:50 pm. It was supposed to be ready at 7:38. I arrived at 7:35. The salads were ready when I got there. Three different parties came in and picked up their pizza orders while I waited. ALL OF THEM had order times on their receipts after mine. When I asked the hostess, she said that they were just busy. I asked why mine was taking so long, and others who had ordered after me had already picked up, she went back to the kitchen. I watched her talk to the pizza maker. At 7:50 - A FULL HOUR after I ordered, I talked to the manager. Same no answer to my question. I understand being short staffed - which was the manager's excuse. I understand being busy - which was the hostess' excuse. But please don't lie to me. It was pretty evident that the kitchen dropped the ball, and they didn't even put my pizza in until after I asked the first time. I would have given this place a zero, but the pizza was good. We like Mellow Mushroom pizza! But we won't be going back after this. There are plenty of pizza shops in Wake Forest to choose from that make a comparable pizza that doesn't take an hour to prepare.
