I really enjoyed my experience there.
Both this restaurant and we’re founded in Charles town, West Virginia and then moved to Raleigh/Wake Forest. It’s so great to see a West Virginia restaurant branch out and spread the homely and welcoming behavior that is expected from West Virginia. Our waiter Jack, was awesome. The food was great. All I wish is a little more WV decor (possibly “races and slots” decor) to remind me of home. Thank you all and I will definitely be returning here.
They were unable to cook to the specification of the order that was given at the time that it was taken. The sausage was very low grade not up to part, pancakes and waffles will not cooked well. Hash browns when I cooked well. They were extremely cold, and eggs when I cook too what was we ask for them to be cooked at. The only thing that was really good was to drinks and we had water and pre mixed lemonade and tea. I will not be going back. And they overcharged, after they agreed that they were going to give discounts to the bill after messing up the orders.
We tried Grandma’s twice a few years ago and never came back. Breakfast was a couple of eggs on a plate with bacon. Not very appealing. We decided to try it on Mother’s Day and were very pleased. Most impressive was Samantha. She was super upbeat, greeted everyone in a very sincere way with a friendly smile. The waiter, Nick was sincerely friendly and the entire staff was anxious to please. Samantha was on top off everything. I would have tried to hire her if I still owned my business. She’s a gem. My only criticism was the hash browns weren’t very good and your prices are a little high. Overall, a good experience. Maybe off a loyalty program for more regular customers that can reduce prices.
Still sat in a timely manner and server continued to check on us while we waited for our food. Positive personalities. Over heard seating setting clear expectations on time in a polite manner and loved that.

The food was delicious! I had the chicken and waffle sandwich and my wife had the French toast. Will definitely go back again.
Good honest food with a main focus on breakfast.It's not a big fancy chain , it hasn't spent all it's money on decor and advertising , it is exactly as you would expect , comfy , easy , tasty.At some point I will venture out of my comfort zone which is the grandad's big breakfast as I've sampled a lot of the others but it's hard to say no when it hits the spot.Prices are reasonable , parking is easy , well worth a trip.
Service was really nice and polite. Food took 45 minutes to come out, and thats for a basic breakfast. You can tell that the hashbrowns are dehydrated, they do not taste good!! First time ever seeing only powdered creamer available. Nice staff, no wait, but I don't plan on returning in the future because of the food quality.
The service was fine. The handling of the food was not. Why leave my food out and then cover it once I come back. Why not wear a face mask & shield if your gonna cough while cooking the food. Why use your bare hands to pick up food. Smh i see why their hours are so short. I won't be going back. ?
