We were a little nervous going in (it was a Saturday night with virtually no crowd, plus the sanitation rating is a little lower than we like). We were seated quickly and waited on quickly.Service - solid. Friendly, attentive, helpful. Awesome!Drinks - solid. Nothing amazing, but still quite good.Food - VERY good. The tableside guac (which isn't made tableside for some reason) was perfect. VERY good. We got tacos (very good, especially the pork one) and the "special plate" (good, more food than one person can eat, honestly!).Prices - VERY good.We will be back. We have been to better places in the greater Raleigh area but this will be on our short list of places we will look forward to visiting regularly.
The service at this restaurant is consistently excellent very professional. I like that they have a host always at the door and they do come to check on you at the table. The food is consistently good and doesn't take too long to get ready. They always get the orders right which is nice. The ambience is really nice alot of effort went into giving the place an authentic feel.I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Ordered Arrozo texano plate for take out. I got 4 small shrimp 6 small strips of meat, a scoop of rice and no tortillas for $16.99. Not worth the price at all. I Have ordered here before with no problems but this is unacceptable.
Monday night and something was off with the chicken used in the enchiladas and chimichangas. I pulled out 3 large bay leaves (I assume), from my 2 enchiladas and in hindsight, that was probably what made the chicken taste weird to me. My son’s tiras de pollo was average. Very little chipotle taste and sauce was a little like cheese gravy than chipotle cream sauce. We do usually have great food here. Salsa was good and so was the cheese dip. Maybe just an off night.
Definitely a great place to eat ask for alfredo the bartender he is the best. The food is excellent and everyone is so nice. We love it here.
Delicious food, very large portions especially when you eat inside. This is probably the best Mexican food in the Wake Forest / North Raleigh area hands down.Recently went in for our anniversary and the waitress was prompt with refills and able to answer our questions in a friendly and prompt manner.Highly recommend people to to check this place out!
Yikes. I ordered a Quesadilla and what came did not at all resemble a quesadilla. It was shredded chicken with some cheese in a tortilla but folded in half and not grilled at all. It was just an uncooked tortilla with some shredded chicken. My daughter’s fries were not cooked and terrible. My husband ordered a fajita burrito, but it was just a fajita thrown in a tortilla-no rice and for sure not something that resembled a burrito. Chips and salsa were fine hence the 2 stars. Not going back.
Got the carnitas dinner, it was just pulled pork, refried beans, shredded lettuce with a pepper, guacamole and stale dry tortillas. The plate was very hot but the pulled pork and beans were very cold.. I told the waitress to see about a resolution and she just asked if I wanted it heated up as if it was supposed to be cold.. how on earth does cooked food get ice cold (being stored in a fridge?) how did they heat it (in a microwave?) that's.. ghetto. A restaurant that does this probably cuts corners in other cheep and unsafe ways, the waitresses service & reaction was sad and the price was high for what could have been mediocre food IF it was even cooked and served well.
Fantastic food and supper friendly service. It was our first time here but we will be coming back for sure. Lovely room decor.
2nd trip to Don Julio’s. With my wife this time.Salsa and chips are Wonderfull. My enchilada and taco had very wet beef. It ran out of the taco. 1st time I had fajitas. Generous portion. The wife’s chimichanga had a bad spice that she couldn’t pinpoint but did not enjoy it. This time our meal with margaritas were reasonable $30. Don’t eat at the bar, some locals are loud and have foul mouths. The restaurant has good decorations. But, due to negatives we will likely stay with Fiesta Mexican in Youngsville.
