Some of the best seafood I've eaten that wasn't on the coast, I got the pick 3 combo popcorn shrimp, flounder filet and perch with onion rings. The portion was more than I could eat and believe me I'm a 240 pound eater, I had enough left for the next day at supper. This place is 2 and a half hours from me and I would make the trip again when my seafood need arises.
The service was quick and courteous. The restaurant was clean. The food was basic. I felt like my fish was cooked in the microwave and some old bay seasoning thrown on top. The hush puppies were delicious. This is a great, inexpensive, close to home seafood choice for dinner but I’d you are a seafood lover/foodie, this is not the place for you.
The Canadian flounder was fabulous, all the food was great. We live an hour away and will definitely come back.
Our first time there the Staff was excellent and the meal was Very good. We also talked to the Owner he was very customer friendly and a pleasure to talk to.
Um.... Is this what devil crab is supposed to look like? Where is the meat? And why is there a hole in it? My first time ordering...
Very good, always hot and the service staff are very friendly and helpful. Do not confuse KotS with fast food, no you don’t wait a long time, but it’s DEFINITELY NOT FAST FOOD. Relax, enjoy some hush puppies, yes they are delicious, have a coffee, tea or your favorite soft drink, and soak up the ambiance. This is old school fish ? camp, like your grandfather took you to. Bring the family, friends, coworkers, church group or just come with your son or daughter. It’s a great place to make a memory. Your child will ask you to bring them back again and again.Now I didn’t write this long review just because I like tapping on my phone, it’s REAL! Try it, you’ll like it. Tell ‘em Kevin Jr told you it’s real good, they may treat you with a slice of key lime pie, or maybe not. You should buy a slice to take home for later.AND, ask for the take home box when you order because the servings are huge.
I've been eating here ever since they opened the place, and my food from here has always been excellent. I was recently told while attempting a call-in order that their 4-item fried combo is no longer available, but the guy on the phone sounded questionable, so I'm going to check on that a little further. Also, I didn't like management's response to Bottom Feeder TV's comment on "frog legs tasted like dirt". It was a cheap shot to lay the blame of muddy-tasting frog legs on kitchen employees ... when fish tastes like dirt, fish in a different pond (or better yet, get 'em from a river) ... don't blame the cook ?. But like I said, my food from King Of The Sea has always been super-good.
It's ok here... Setting is for more of the Senior citizens crowd. Seems like everything is fried in same oil. Hushpuppies tasted like they were fried with fish. Cole slaw seemed to be chopped fine enough for a infant. Very dry combination.
Ordered 3 meals and a chowder drove 20 minutes ( 15 miles) there picked up drove home (20 min 15 miles) order was wrong mixed up sides and forgot to send oyster dinner. I called they put me on hold found ticket said u got what you ordered I said no and I am bringing it back. Drive back another 15 miles owner came out (I assume owner) and said what do u want I said refund or fresh order and correct order he responded with I gave you your money what else do u want I said if u make fresh I will pay for correct fresh order he said no
Captain galley used to be my favorite seafood restaurant now king of the sea is they are awesome they're fish does not taste fishy their food is fresh and their staff is wonderful the waitress was really good these and everyone was very fantastic really enjoyed it thank you
