an item was missed when I received my order. no huge deal, sometimes things happen. I go in there to get my cherry yum-yum and I was greeted by the owner. He immediately says “well now you get two since you had to come back, does that sound good to you?” Of course. Their cherry ? yum yums are DELICIOUS!! The owner was also nice to the man who forgot my yum-yum, he wasn’t scolding him or being mean. He made the comment “if this is the only mistake that’s made today then it’s a good day” and I agree! I want to thank them for their friendly service. I didn’t mind returning and I was never upset. I left smiling, it’s all in how you look at the situation! now go get you a cherry yum-yum, you won’t regret it! until next time. ?
Reasonably priced diner fare. I thought the hot dogs are really good, although the fries were a bit flavorless. Adding salt and copious amounts of ketchup didn't seem to help very much.
Good food fast service. Husband and I stopped in the middle of our road trip for lunch. If we’re ever back in Statesville, we will eat there again. Very satisfied.
Hot dogs all the way!
Best hot fudge sundae I've ever had, hands down. Most places skimp on the toppings but mine was generously topped with hot fudge and whipped cream. Honestly I've never had any food from there that wasn't good but this hot fudge sundae topped any I've ever bought elsewhere.
This is a fun place to take the family for a hot dog of any variety! Jay Bee's has been open for 41 years and also has other fast food items. It is I/2 mile off of I-40 near Statesville, NC.
I ordered a "World Famous Footlong Hot dog, in whose world? it cost a total of $5.79; the toppings we're good, the hot dog & bun was soggy, wet & cold. They tried to give me an order someone drove off & left, I got their $14.00+ dollar receipt, which I didn't pay. I called them to let them know, hence this review, they argued the table temp is 250 degrees, I said, "you must have put hot dog in 5 minutes ago. Friday Flounder Fish Special for $7.29+? That might have been great but I'll never know.
My husband and I are at JBs almost ever week for lunch. This past week I saw a sign advertising new shakes...salted caramel. OMG I got them to add chocolate and it was the best. Yes I have been talking about it and yes I will be back.. for food and a shake.
I've seen the billboard on I40 for a while and I like hotdogs and local joints so I finally stopped at the drive thru. I ordered a foot long with fries and cherry Pepsi as well as a Johnsonville bratwurst with spicy mustard and kraut. Dessert was something called cherry yum yum! The footling was not bad for brown weenie and the slaw was chunky but worked. Not a big fan of the chili as it tasted like canned Hormel or something akin to that. The brat was split and they are always good from Johnsonville with the mustard and kraut accentuating the flavour. The fries were straight cut and coated and were hot and fresh. The wild cherry Pepsi was good as it always is but the best item was the dessert! Cherry yum yum tasted like cherry cheesecake but looked like banana pudding using cherry pie filling instead...it was worth the visit and I'll be back for morw fo sho...
Love this little place! I wish it many more years of success. Est. 1981! I love the pimento burger and salted caramel milkshakes, but the footlong hot dog can't be denied. Friendly faces make it worth the wait, everything is made fresh.
