I had a fairly good experience at TSS.Service: Excellent service from sitting down to getting up.Food: I consumed the Texas signature salad. Crispy croutons topped leafy greens. Tender chicken paired with fresh red onion and juicy tomatoes sprinkled with cheese confetti.Hygiene: The restaurant was fairly clean they get a star for that.Speed: The speed was ok, but I like that they gave us bread and butter while we wait.
I took my fiancé to the Smithfield location. We ordered the Appetizer and it was good. So We placed our order I asked the waitress if I could get a steak with the BBQ sampler I even said if their is an up charge it’s ok. That meal you can get 3-4 Different BBQ meats with corn and one side. She came back and said that I can get a steak as one of the meets per her shift leader along with smoked brisket and half rack of ribs. So about 15 min later the waitress came to me and said when she put in the order that the restaurant manager said that that substitution couldn’t be done. So I told her to give me a double order of brisket and half rack of ribs. I got 2 pieces of brisket so dry and hard and the meat on the ribs was so over cooked it crumbled. So I called the waitress over and told her to take it back and to removed it from my bill. I couldn’t wait Any longer for more food as we had somewhere else to be. My fiancé ordered the steak and half rack of ribs and the ribs was so dry she couldn’t eat them. One thing that irritated me the most is that the manger that made the call to not honor what I wanted and was told that it could happen wouldn’t even show his/her face. My meal due to this situation was the appetizer that we got. All correspondence was communicated through the waitress that has only been working there two weeks I’m very good when it come to BBQ and this was so disappointing and I will never eat at the establishment again. I couldn’t eat my meal with my fiancé as we planned. But with drinks, her meal, appetizer still cost 51 bucks.I was a GM at a restaurant after I retired from the army and his/her actions in this matter was so unprofessional and honestly needs to be fired if this is how his/her treat customers. I would have handled this so differently. Thanks for your time
Atmosphere here was good for a steak house, but over all after five visits over a period of six months, we decided not to return. Wrong steaks, wrong temperature, out of steak (how does a steak house run out of ribeyes?) , and less than average tasting sides have made up our mind not to go back for the price. We can cook the same stuff at home far better and cheaper.
Just want to say that me and my gang of 5 came in tonight and we had Morgan as our server. I have to say that she's one of a kind. She walked up right on time and introduced herself to the table and from that point I and rest of the table knew that we were taking care of. We will definitely come back and ask for her for sure! Thank you Texas for hiring such a wonderful soul
The experience was amazing. I took my mother out for mother's day. Although they were packed, we were seated at the bar! To my surprise the service was excellent. The food was excellent, and the waitress was attentive and friendly. We order two Ribeyes with Caesar salads and sauteed mushrooms. The steaks were grilled as ordered to perfection.I highly recommend
Cannot fathom how this place has over 3 stars, unless I went at a terrible time. The only redeeming part is that the staff was not rude, but in terms of food, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in any restaurant.I would recommend the nearby Golden Corral before you eat here and that is saying something. The clearly microwaved appetizers were still cold, my steak was raw, the bathrooms were flooded and disgusting. Please, save yourself, you have so many other mediocre chain options nearby. At least Outback can be consistently “fine”, this place is essentially Chernobyl.
We were seated quickly and the waitress was taking our drink order within two minutes, so far so good. We placed our order for an appetizer, two dinner entrees with two salads. After about 20 minutes our steaks arrived and I asked what happened to our Salads. Our salads then arrived two minutes later. My steak while tasting good was over cooked. So the waitress took it back and said she would get a new one and did ask if I wanted to speak to a manager which I did not at the time. 10 minutes later the replacement came. It was cooked correctly but way over seasoned. A this point we had been there over an hour and we didn't have time to send it back again.
When we arrived at the restaurant it was doing some major remodeling. We had a 45 minute wait and I am assuming they can't get enough help since there were a number of empty tables. The person at the entrance did nothing except take names and seat guests. If he had been helping to bus tables the wait time may have been less. Once seated our server did a very good job taking our order and bringing our food. However, my filet was well done and I had ordered it medium rare. I didn't send it back since I figured they had enough problems going on at the time. If you think the Outback the food may be better the wait on a Sunday evening was a hour.
If you are traveling I would not recommend going to this restaurant. Our waitress was very kind and attentive, but the kitchen was super slow. It took over 35 minutes to get our food and the bathroom was disgusting. Remodeling or not, bathrooms need to be kept clean. The sinks in the ladies bathroom were very stained. I’m pretty sure my hands were cleaner than the sink.
Stopped while staying overnight. The food and service were great! They are currently remodeling and I’m sure the finished facility will be nice. Our server was nice and made sure we had everything we needed.
