They didn't devein the shrimp, got the order wrong TWICE, and even THEN the food was low quality. Don't waste your time eating 40 dollar garbage, go to Bojangles, at least THAT has good quality.
The food and experience here was about average. Nothing special about the food, nothing I would expect out of a town's namesake. Nothing outside of an average food joint with average food.
We love Smithfields and eat here whenever we come to NC. This trip we ate here twice. The pulled pork is absolutely perfect and we love their sauce, coleslaw and especially their hushpuppies. The restaurant is always clean and well maintained and the staff were super attentive and friendly. We went at different times of the day on different days and it was fantastic both times. Our granddaughter loves the chicken and always gets that with fries and hushpuppies. Definitely one of our favorites.
On our way to Florida, stopped for a bite at Smithfield's which I didn't know had restaurants. Tried the chicken tender sandwich and was delicious. Tried both house versions of hot sauce with the Red Sauce, the better of the two. Really enjoyed our stop here!

We ordered in drive-thru, and they brought food out to our car within just a few minutes. We had BBQ sandwiches, which were very good.
the chicken was incredibly dry and the waiters are incredibly rude. do not go here if you want nice food.
i recently went with my family this month and we all ordered bbq chicken when we got it it was PINK and still had chicken feathers, we also saw lots of rat bite marks on the lettuce and tomatoes. when we asked for a refund the employee told me that to “f*** off then if ur not happy” so we did WITHOUT getting a refund, as we where walking out a crazy employee came out of the bushes and started BARKING at us!
Visited for a late lunch the Thursday after Memorial Day. We ate inside. Everything is socially-distanced. Plates, cups and utensils are all disposable. Plexiglas and sanitizer are at the counter. All the staff was wearing masks. The Que, hush puppies slaw and potato salad were good. We knew we were in Eastern Carolina because even the red sauce was vinegar based.
Would give a negative review if I could! Tried this place for the first time wanting something new. Ordered chicken tenders but received a breast. Ordered shrimp which came out looking like CRUMBS. The BBQ sandwich had an overwhelming vinegar flavor. All and all we were underimpressed with everything we tried. Except the sweet tea! The only reason for 1 star.
