Went to lunch after a work meeting with 7 of us. I have been to other locations and loved them so I was the one to suggest this location. Having never been here, I assumed it would fare the same as the locations I frequent. I was very disappointed by the infestation of flies when we sat down.....inside. We literally spent the entire time guarding our food and swatting at the air to try to keep these rather aggressive flies from landing on us or our food. As it is summer and hot out, some fly activity is to be expected...but not at this level. As seven people who run food service establishments, we are well aware of fly issues but we take steps to alleviate that. I have never tried to eat in such a situation since I visited Mexico. That being said, the food was still really good. It did take a bit to come out considering we were the only people sat when we arrived. I will still return in hopes that a pest management solution has been put in place but spending over an hour defending ourselves and eventually our food from flies does not lend way to a great lunch experience.
The location is in a really good spot and the outside is great. The inside wasn’t very impressive unfortunately. There were a ton of flies everywhere and the food was a little disappointing. The fried pickles were very greasy and such a painfully small portion. For $8, it was very disappointing. It was only enough for one person realistically. For a pickles cucumber and breading, that is a crime to charge that much. The cheeseburger was also on the small end for being $11. The taste was okay, but still overpriced. My wife was not very impressed with her fried chicken sandwich and did not finish the whole thing because it was too greasy. Overall a huge, disappointing let down. We had high hopes for this place and it was not good. Hopefully the owners see this and try harder in the future, because it has a long way to go.
Family was in town and decided to stop here. Seated immediately as there were only two other customers in the establishment. Once seated, waited for 15 minutes for waitress to get our drinks. Now the journey begins- should have taken my family and walked out but we were tired and hungry and already wasted time just waiting so we figured we would just stay. Waitress completely forgot about us and seemed to be distracted with some drama that one of the employees was having with her boyfriend as 5 police officers came and arrested the individual that apparently busted a car windshield in the parking lot where we parked. This is of course is not the fault of the establishment and the owner, but what I do expect is accountability for how “we the customer” were treated and the poor service that was provided. Waitress did apologize for the wait after being a “chatty patty” and looking right at us while talking to other employees. She finally took our order but yet again, food took another 30 minutes to be delivered to the table, and not worth the wait, disappointing. Again, hardly no one in the restaurant to account for these delays in service. May I also note that other customers had the same experience which our waitress was yelled at for the same poor experience! There is more but in summary, I will never return to this place ever again and will not recommend it. Suggestion to owners, vet out your employees before hiring and ensure your proactive with how the place is ran while your not there. Note: I can not speak to other locations but hopefully they do not provide the same customer experience to their so called valued customers with there fresh ingredients, sure, if you say so!
Nice quaint neighborhood spot with great music. Healthy food choices and affordable.. however it may benefit to increase spices in the jerk chicken. It didn't taste like jerk seasoning. But the chicken was so tender it was still good ?
Got the Hangover Fries. I think it was prepared well enough but didn't much enjoy it myself. I think I should have gone with a burger like my original hankering was for. Staff was friendly and attentive. Prices were reasonable. I'll be back.
I came April 3rd 2022 and everything was going good. My husband ordered a side of sweet potato fries and it came out super late when he was already done with his food. But I paid with cash I paid $100 on a 36$ tab and I got back 60 when I was supposed to get back 64. I’m not to mad about it but she basically took her own tip money. I think her name was crystal. So I didn’t tip her because she helped herself. So disappointing that I can’t even trust employees with my own money
As a frequent customer I found my last visit disappointing. Their signature Shrimp and Grits recipe either changed completely or wasn’t prepared properly. Fried green tomatoes were not available. Kale side dish not available. As another recent review stated, “something is not right”. I tend to agree… I’ll definitely return hoping this was a one-time hiccup…
We have been to Simple Twist numerous times with good experiences each time. However when I visited yesterday with my mom who was visiting from out of town, we had a terrible experience. We waited more than 5 minutes just for our waitress Natalie to bring us menus and take our drink orders. We then waited over 40 minutes after we ordered for our food to come out. There was no explanation or apology for it taking this excessive amount of time. About 5 minutes before our food was brought out, our waitress informed me that they were out of turkey for my sandwich and that needed to be substituted. Again there was no apology or compensation for any of this. I also observed another waitress vaping while putting in an order on the computer. Not sure what is going on at this place, but we won’t be back any time soon.
