Amazing food and wait staff! Renee took care of us today and we were so impressed!! We decided to try the fried pickles with Alabama white sauce! So good!! Oh and the pork rinds they give you to snack on, fresh and hot, but add the barbecue sauce and thank me later! We both had the beef brisket and it did not disappoint! So tender and juicy! I had collards with the cole slaw as my sides. Everything was fresh and so good! Local beer on tap and friendly staff, great local place! Thank you all!! We will for sure be back!!
Waitress was great food was not. Sweet potato fries and cornbread were burnt. Ribs were over cooked, tough and dry. When we asked for new cornbread they brought out cornbread with the burnt cut off!! Brisket and Mac n cheese were good. Did not accept cash and it was not posted anywhere at restaurant giving us a heads up. Talked to manager? And she was very dismissive. She said ok. For $100 meal we will take our business elsewhere.
Sooo good. I had veggies today ?. Will go back when I will be consuming everything. They had burnt ends of brisket but today wasn't for me.Update Father's Day 2022..arrived shortly after noon. Place was busy and had to wait only a few minutes to be seated.Seated on the balcony, fine. I'm make this brief. Family of 4 already waiting w/drinks, family of 3 after us and then family of 4 comes in next and waitress proceeds to ask last family can she take their drink order. Never asked anything or acknowledged us, as well as the family of 3. We left.Train your staff better. I spent over $40 some where else.
This place is great if you’re looking for great food that has a mellow atmosphere. The brisket was incredible, it melted in my mouth and could be cut with a fork. Mac and cheese was great but the sweet potato fries wasn’t to my liking. Not because of taste though, because I like my fries extra crispy. Hard to get sweet potato fries like that. Location is a great view and it’s pretty cool watching the planes take off and land.
Great views of the airport tarmac and just the outside with large windows. Inside and outside seating was great!! We had a group of 8. Nacho appetizer was phenomenal and my favorite of all I tried. Spinach and artichoke was good but a little bland (a little more seasoning and it could be spot on). Several got salads that they all liked. Several got quesadillas and loved them. One got brisket which was good but cut too thick which made it difficult to bite. I got smoked chicken breast which I did not finish. It was over cooked and very dry. The chicken did have a good smoke flavor that was not over powering. The cheese in my Mac n cheese curdled so was not my fav side. You can't go wrong for the atmosphere. Even though there were a few things I didn't like I will still try again.
Nice relaxing lunch overlooking the tarmac at Johnston County Regional Airport. Surprisingly, there was lots of activity at the airport.There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, with beautiful views of the airfield throughout the restaurant.At the suggestion of our waitress we opted for the brisket, smoked Mac and cheese and collard greens. It also came with a small side of coleslaw and a pice of cornbread. The brisket was fork tender and rather delicious, as well as the sides.Also tried the banana pudding and peach cobbler. Although both were homemade, I wasn't a fan of either. It just seemed to lack a little intensity in flavor/consistency wise.Will definitely visit again and try some of the other smokehouse delights!
Absolutely love it! As a meat and aviation lover you cant possibly ask for anything better, the wife and I drove 5 hours from Thomson Ga to visit this place as a weekend getaway, 2 months later we brought most of the family to experience that great quality of food and atmosphere! The food was amazing both times, the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu as well as the history of the business! The owners took their time to come out and talk with us and spend time talking with the family, we got some dry rubs and sauces we look forward to using this weekend and have made it a point to visit here regularly!
The most tender ribs I’ve ever had. Pulled pork well done. In a new building on a small airport strip, which is cool. Highly recommend this place.
Awesome atmosphere and at an airport! Remember 3rd floor in a new building. BBQ was excellent and the pork skins were the best I have ever had! Will be back when I'm in the area!
This place has a very unique location at the Johnston County Airport where you can eat and watch the planes from a 3rd floor dining room or outside on a the patio. Now to the food review. The pulled pork was good as well as the Brisket. There was a herb in the pork and beans that I did not care for but the cornbread was delicious, light fluffy and sweet. I want to go back and try the wings and a few other items on the menu.
