Food was a huge disappointment. Salads consisted of lettuce and dry chicken and a little cheese. Pad Thai was a pile of mush. Unfortunate waste of money for our ladies lunch. Not one plate out of 7 was acceptable. The only good item was the tater tots. Service was confusing where to pay and had to reach around bar patron. Will not be eating here again.
Our waitress never asked or offered to refill the drinks, the wait time was hardly ideal, the drinks we were able to acquire tasted awful, my food was not good to put it nicely. The quesadilla was nice. The curry is not what it used to be but was acceptable. I hate to be a jerk but this place took a dive when it changed. Joe's Place had great food and drinks.
Love their pad thai! I get it every single time. 4 stars simply because I'm judging 5 stars to the be the best food I've ever had hah.
My wife and I were a little hesitant about going there because of a few negative reviews but we decided to try it. We absolutely enjoyed our meal. We both had the Fat Dog and it was wonderful. I'm not much on slaw but the slaw was really good as was the chilli. The hot dog was great. I really loved the grill marks on the dog. The bun was really good. Fries were good and plentiful. Small selection of draft beers but the red was really good and the price was great. $4.50 for a 16oz draft. Will definitely go back next time we are in Shelby.
You get plenty of food for the money. I ordered a cheeseburger and it was a little over cooked. The onion rings were very good.We ate at the bar because we didn't want to wait for a table. The bartender was friendly and provided good service.
Lots of staff and empty tables. Made a waitlist told us 10 minutes after 20 minutes and lots of staff standing around and not working. No rush, no hurry, no seating. When we asked they shouted there was no booths available. We didn't ask for a booth. Bar has 10 free seats, outside had 2 empty tables. We left. Bad service trying to get a table, no since in staying longer for more bad service. Staff act like they don't care. Can't see them staying in business except all other restaurants had a long wait. Others know better and now we do too. Joe's was great, new owner/mgr not doing well.
Horrible since it turned into Lafayette Grill and Pub it was perfect when it was Joe's place and you got plenty of food but now I can't even get spicy tiger chicken nachos it's all just a sweet sauce instead of offering it spicy like Joe did. I went here every since I was a child but with new ownership I won't be back. They offer lower quantities of food and it isn't as good. The other chicken nachos are horrible without the added spice option but ironically that's also an accurate description for this place as well, no longer spicy or zesty enough for my taste.
We moved to SC so this was the first time back since the new ownership and I picked up a few orders of Tiger Chicken Nachos to bring back to SC for my family and I must say they were absolutely amazing and the staff was super friendly also. I’ll definitely be returning in the near future.
we had great food we had great service and would highly recommend it.
Great little place. Friendly people, cold beer and good food !!
