My favorite in Shelby. Chile Rellenos are fabulous. Food is consistently good. Hard working friendly staff.

Our server was Jimmy, and the service was beyond of expectations. He checked in multiple times to make sure everything was great. The food was hot and very tasty. The atmosphere is fun also! Will absolutely be back!!
This has got to be the best Mexican restaurant in NC, hands down!! I love how many different items offer chorizo, you don't get that anywhere else, they may have ONE or two with chorizo but el Acapulco has well over a dozen. The prices are more than fair compared to anywhere else in the area and el Acapulco has much much MUCH better food, options, friendlier, faster, cooler seats. I love everything about this place and eat there 1-3 times a week
We eat here every Sunday....been doing so for years...great service great atmosphere and we love our waiters like family. Can't go wrong at this place. Just sit down and enjoy.
So, I grew up in Shelby and really liked the local Mexican cuisine. However, I have been living in Colorado for the last four years, and Mexican food taste much different up there. I ordered a burrito and it was really salty and smothered in thick cheese.
The very best food always fresh and excellent service! Staff always so friendly..you just can't beat the food.

First time here. All was good food wise but don’t like being solicited to buy something or donate to someone while I’m out eating at a table in a restaurant. They went around to all the patrons at the tables. I understand a lot of people are down and out financially right now but you could set up a table inside the door or outside with a sign for that person where people could donate if they wanted.
Love this restaurant, family run, fast paced. I've never had a bad meal!!! That's a ➕ ➕ ➕ ➕. Excellent drink. Funny staff, when they speak English. But that makes it so much better!!!
