Fathers day 2pm place was less than 1/2 full when we came in. Waited 10 minutes and a sloppy man said it would be a 15 to 20 minute wait for a table he looked like a cook or janitor. We looked around at the empty tables and asked if we heard correctly he had already turned his back on us and was never seen again. If that was the host or manager Denny's needs to know the way this host presents. We really all wanted grand slams so we waited. As we waited it was obvious that staff didn't care about those who were already there. The orders were stacked waiting trip to tables and waitress kept setting the food down at register to help person at register. We watched this poor service go on for 10 more minutes while 1/2 the customers checked out the other 1/2 watched there food get cold. The staff working here looks like they just came here after being fired at McDonalds . Denny`s please send a shopper to this location and see what I'm talking about. We finally left and next time we want grand slams we will go to Blacksburg!
I just want to say how awesome the employees are at Shelby Denys. There are 3 people running this restaurant right now. They are doing it with smiles! The food was delicious and the service was better than most places I've been lately! The cook was even helping run food. I hope the owner knows how awesome their employees are, they definitely deserve raises!!
Slowwwwwwwww and totally out of most of the menu per the waitress. Waiting almost a hour for our food. Time to retain and rehire folks. Pay better = better workers.
all together great food, there was only one waitress and 1 cook, but the done there job to the fullest! I will be back
Went to Denny’s on Mother’s Day with my Husband to get some well needed quality time. After having to wait a good bit just to be seated, we sat there at our booth for a long time before getting our order taken. Once we got our order put in, we waited about an hour for it, even though the Denny’s wasn’t busy (surprisingly) once we got our food, my husband’s bread was burnt and my pancakes were not cooked fully, the pancake batter was oozing out after the first bite.The lesson that both my husband and I learned from this was to just stay home with the kids and cook.Happy Mother’s Day I guess : /
Ants anta ants...3 weeks ago went and was seated at both. As we were eating noticed ants in a line on window seal. We mentioned to waitress ans she said she was so sorry and Manager not there but she will mention it to them. About 10 minuets later two both down also see ants and mentioned to waitress and asked to be moved.Thought give it a try again feeling sure the ants would be resolved. I'm talking not just a few ants this was a line of marching ants. We was seated 4 both down from where we were last time and behold ants still on the March. Mentioned to what I'm guessing was manager as she was at register and took our payment and she was in street cloths no uniform and no name tag so pretty sure it was Manager.We told her about the ants ans she goes into "this happens every year at this tome of the year" it is an old building and we can't plug all the hole in the structure. It is the suyurp. She had an attitude of "matter of fact" and acted that just deal with the ants.As she was being a matter of fact I asked so it is ok and she goes back into that the building is old and we can't plug all the holes, and I can't call any one to do that and spray. I happen to see the rating of 94 and thought hum.Ok they can't or will not do anything about ants in 3 weeks I can surely not spent money there again and will not.
We came in and our server Alice was amazing!! She was very careful to get our order right and took great care of us. This place was clean and the staff was top notch. The store manager Christian cooked my T bone steaks well done. Let me say that these were the juiciest well done steaks I have ever eaten. They were so good I tipped him 20 dollars? Please come eat here you will not regret it!
They only had 3 employees... But they were fantastic! They did a great job of being quick and made some good food. Hate that the employees were so overworked.
When we entered and waiting to be seated we were told to just find a seat. No menus no utensils. Another party of 2 came in of different ethnicity of ours, they were seated with menus and utensils by the same person who waived us off. We literally sat there 15minutes watching everyone get service while no one even came to get our drink order. We eventually just got up and left.
