We were in town visiting family, and decided to come here with our toddler when we had an evening to ourselves. SUCH an awesome place. The pizza was amazing, the Gelato was awesome, and our 2-year-old loved his pasta. The staff was so friendly and patient with us (our son was a bit rambunctious), and it was just an overall great experience. Definitely recommend.
Great option to try anytime! Worth the drive from the Triangle. It's in an old post office and is fixed up very nicely in modern updates and subtle post office touches. Artisan focaccia bread appetizer, fresh toppings and sauces, plus other Italian dishes. Excellent draft beer and wine list as well.
All employees were really friendly and attentive. Wanting to sample a few menu items I ordered the club sandwich, the steak sandwich & a pepperoni & sausage calzone to go. I love a good club sandwich and was excited to try one from here. All three had great flavor, the ingredients are clearly quality. The folded crust was more bread than I expected on the sandwiches (I should have looked at pictures, I thought I was getting regular bread slices), the warmth of the club sandwich made the leaves wilted & soggy and the calzone leaked quite a bit through the box and onto the car seat on the drive home. Will be dining in if I eat here again.
Friendly and accommodating waitress staff, tasty fresh Italian food, centralized location. They specialize in pizza, focaccia, local beer, desserts and more. We'll be back.
The steak sandwich ?. I try to come and catch a bite on my days off. ANY of the salads are AMAZING. Atmosphere is great. Great selection of LOCAL beers. Cloud 9 beer ? is so flavorful. Their dressing is homemade, just like everything else including their Gelato. The unique flavors sets them apart. It's local, and SO FLAVORFUL. Also, after reading previous reviews, many restaurants require the full party to be seated.
This pizza is delicious. Thin crust. 16 inches is the only size. Prices are very reasonable, and the staff is delightful! We ordered the primavera and added pepperoni. The toppings were plenty but they didn't overshadow the thin pizza dough. They use coke products. 100 percent coming back here to try the calzones.
Amazing food in an awesome historic building. This place has amazing sandwiches especially the steak. Sounds crazy for Italian but I promise you won't regret it. Love the atmosphere and staff. Again very nice Sunday lunch and not a crazy crowd. Will be visiting much more often. Also check out the old postal Jeep out back. Still used for delivery and in amazing condition. Any Jeep enthusiast would consider this Jeep worth the visit in itself. Continue the day by walking around downtown Sanford and grab some gelato for that walk before you leave the establishment.
Went for a daddy daughter date . It is a wonderful place . Parking is limited I believe that helps to set the mood in the location. Don't be fooled when walking in to the ice-cream shop
Ordered an Americana Pizza for take out that was far too spicy to eat. (Since when does regular Italian sausage have to blister your lips? Other pizzarias offer Italian sausage and spicy Italian sausage as choices; since this just said Italian sausage, presumed it’s would be mild.) And to add insult to injury, after having looked forward to some of their exquisite gelato all afternoon, there were half as many flavors available as usual, none of which looked particularly appealing, and none at all that were sugar free (they ALWAYS have a few flavors of sugar free). I was offered a low cal flavor. It’s a shame that the staff does not recognize that sugar free and low cal are NOT INTERCHANGEABLE.
I usually love this place, but high prices and slower service is coming into play hers, For what you pay it is not a good place to eat. But if you just want to impress someone go there eat there. Since the owner lives in Raleigh near Cameron Village and spends less and less time there it has gone down even with the move to the old post office building and bigger and supposedly better food.
