,I took my grandchildren there to eat. the restaurant had people but wasn't full. the waitress get ready to seat us. mind you there were plenty of seats inside. she walks us out to the patio where no one else was sitting . I was like why did you sit us out here when there's plenty seats inside.food was very salty they replaced it. but it wasn't any better. we left. 1-10 I give a 3 my grand daughter 6 my grandson said 8.. but how can you mess up fries. I got 2 to go boxes .we should have left them there.
We have not dined in at the new location yet however when ordering takeout it seems extremely clean! Everything we have ordered from the new location has tasted good and fresh. Take out orders tend to take about 5 to 10 minutes longer than quoted (however, we normally do order the fajita taco salad and I've been told in the past at other Mexican restaurants that they make the tortillas for the taco salads fresh so they wait until you're there to pick up to make them so you get the freshest product possible, so I'm not mad at this) as far as I can tell the taco shell that comes on the fajita taco salad is fresh and it's not soggy once we get it home etc. So I am assuming this is what they do when you order it.
I was an employee there until recently due to bias standards and harassment by management, loved my coworkers and the costumers up until one of the managers would constantly harass and verbally abuse me. Restaurant Manager wouldn’t do anything or punish this said manager no matter how far they went, I wish I could’ve kept working here but it was causing so much stress that I ended up having to go to the hospital during one of my shifts due to the manager that wouldn’t stop harassing me.
Wanted to order 2 combo meals but was told that the Burritos only came with meat on them, no lettuce, no beans, cheese, or rice on them like a standard burrito would have. Instead we ordered a Arrachera Burrito and Burrito California both with chicken since it listed everything that came on it. Picked up order and the receipt shows we were charged an extra dollar for chicken. No where on the menu does it say they charge extra for chicken except for if you order a combo which we did not do. Prices are high for what you get and would recommend finding another place to eat in the Sanford/Broadway/Lillington area.
Left the restaurant as soon as we got our $37.00 meal. Fought the flies the entire time we waited for our meal to arrive. As soon as the meal arrived, the problem just got worse. Told the waitress about the flies and she could care less. Mentioned the fly issue to another staff member but again no apology.
Tonight marks the end of giving this place the benefit of the doubt. The food is okay—we’ve had authentic Mexican food before in Cancun, PVR, Cabo San Lucas—so we’re not overly impressed by El Burrito. The service is always a hit or miss when we done in. But tonight, we placed an online order. When we arrived to pick it up, the restaurant was practically empty: one couple was leaving and another couple had been served & was eating. Three staff members were sitting at a booth…they all looked over at us waiting at the unattended reception area & continued on with their conversation. Two other staff walked around aimlessly on their phones. The bartender came from the back, glanced our way, & went in the opposite direction. Even after we attempted to get the attention of another waitress, we were overlooked. After waiting for 10 minutes, my husband walked over to a waiter who came from the back (on his phone) & explained that we’d not been helped. He disappeared to the back again. After another five minutes & with at least five staff in the dining area, another staff member came to the reception area & very dryly asked asked us, “Can I help you?” We explained that we’d been waiting for 15 minutes and wanted to pick up our order. She sighed heavily & said, “What’s the order number?” Once we provided it to her, she said that we needed to pay—I disputed this because I’d paid online. She just stood there, so I presented a copy of the order that I’d printed & decided to take with us at the last minute. She didn’t acknowledge that she had incorrectly tried to charge us; instead, she just walked to the bar area & brought our food back. By this time, my husband was livid. He asked for the manager, who was standing near the reception area. Believe it or not, when the staff member told the manager that we asked for him, he walked off back into the kitchen area. We waited another five minutes for him to return. My husband explained how disappointed we were with the lack of service. This manager never looked us in the eyes. He kept his eyes down the entire time & toyed with the screen at the reception area. Of course, this infuriated us all the more! I’m not certain that he was intimidated, ashamed, or just plain old dismissive. What I do know for sure is that we will NEVER spend another penny at this place. & we told him as much. He finally mumbled, “I’m sorry.” You think!?!?! We’ll go where we’re treated like we’re appreciated—& I promise that we won’t miss you at all!
Great go-to spot with family, friends or co-workers. The food is always quick once ordered and the restaurant is always clean. I've gone there plenty of times in the past year and plan on going more for sure. My personal pick is the Speedy Gonzalez lunch special!
Really good food! Every time I’ve gone, we have had excellent food and service. The margaritas were not as good as we wished, and that was kind of a bummer, but I promise the rest is top notch. We will always go back and try the margaritas again!
We were worried about this place after the move to the new building because operations suffered in the transition. It's back in good shape now! Plenty of staff! Tasty kitchen! Good drinks. Cinco de Mayo was a pleasant display of good service, good kitchen timing, and happy customers?
OMG. The best food I've had since we moved to North Carolina! Food was amazing, beautifully presented and arrived quickly. Wait staff was friendly and efficient. There were a few flies though
