The red slaw was great but everything seemed very bland. Broccoli and cheese was frozen Broccoli with some cheese wiz type cheese. Greens were bland and tasted from a can. The bbq was mediocre. Was hoping for a lot more flavor than we received.

Very splendid experience to say the least. Food was amazing! Service was phenomenal! The darling servers were extremely attentive and kind. My buddy and I were passing by heading back to DC from Atlanta and were so thankful we made the 10 minute detour. I totally wish we could take this place back north with us, but will certainly make it a priority to return on future ventures.
Yum!!!! Devoured the BBQ and I wasn't even hungry! It was so good. My hush puppies were perfect too, the way I remember the best hush puppies growing up in NC. I grew up in Raleigh area so I didn't know deep south BBQ either eastern or western NC... Really just Smithfield's for what I bought myself. This wasn't like Smithfield's which I think might be eastern? Anyways it had the great vinegar taste I love in NC bbq! The homemade banana pudding was just like a friend's mom made it growing up that is really hard to find done right!!
Sadly this restaurant has gone downhill. My husband and I just spent almost $25.00 for food we couldn’t eat. They have a country style steak special which we have enjoyed in the past. This time we were badly disappointed. The steak was ok, but it had a lot of gristle which was gross. The rice was so old or undercooked it was hard as a rock. Several customers were complaining about it. Add to that the green beans tasted straight out of a can with no seasoning. After voicing my complaints, I wasn’t offered anything off on our meal or even an apology. Needless to say, this was my last trip to this establishment.
The chicken dumpling were the worst we've ever had. The BBQ was mediocre and was not chopped with large chunks of fat in it. The white slaw was good and the hushpuppies were good. The Cherry yum yum was the best thing we ate by far. Service needs major improvement. We saw our waitress once when she took our order. After that we just had to flag down random waitresses.
First time visit, but not the last time. Fantastic BBQ at very affordable prices.Very quaint inside and comfortable. Food was hot and served very fast. Service was excellent! Great place and full menu.
Alot of locals recommend this place, however it didn't live up to my expectations. The dine in seating and atmosphere was pleasing. The food potions to price were spot on. And i did really love that i had just the right amount of food. I was full when I finished my basket and I didn't have to feel obligated to take leftovers home to take up fridge space and toss them in 3 days. For me, it was just the flovors didn't wow me enough to come back. And the waitress rolled her eyes at us while discussing the slaw option.
My favorite top ten. Excellent food all day ?. From breakfast to later on my friends. Don't forget to tip these hard working ladies.
