The Prime Smokehouse BBQ food was so delicious and well prepared. Friendly staff and the seating and dining area was comfortable and just so pleasant as well.
Ate here for lunch. The first thing we noticed was there are practically no signs leading to the entrance. Service was a bit slow, but improved. Food was good, but for $16 for a burger and fries, they could offer fresh cut fries instead of frozen.
Ok we went to restaurant during overnight stay in Rocky Mount, NC and for us it was beyond wonderful absolutely nothing disappointed. The restaurant was very clean and spacious. We started with the smoked wings for an appetizer and fall off the bone delicious the best ever. For dinner we had the ribs and pulled pork and incredible. The pulled pork most moist and best ever had anywhere. The sweet potatoes, mac and cheese and collard greens were all great. Drinks and dessert also delicious. Our sincere compliments to the Chef for a job beyond well done!!!
The new restaurant is in a beautiful old building the decor is New Orleans. The food is the best. Top picks a the famous Barbecue Ribs collard greens Mac and cheese cedar plank salmon. The peach cobbler was great. Bread pudding needs bourbon The drink were great rum runner was perfect Biggest problem belongs to TripAdvisor. They list the old address
The woman running the front is rude. There’s no wonder the restaurant can’t retain help. It’s obvious the restaurant is short staffed. 30 minutes to ha have food served. If the manager would stay out of the way the place would run better. The food was just ok.
My husband took me there for my birthday and I was very disappointed. The wait to be seated wasn’t long that night but the food was not good. We ordered crab cakes and when they finally brought them out they were extremely small for the price. I asked to speak to the manager because it took 45min for our food to come out then once we get the food it was very close to cold. Not only that the food wasn’t good at all. The owner finally made her way to our table, I explained to her everything that was going on and I also asked her to take the crab cakes back and to remove them from our bill because the 2 crab cakes were like little miniature balls and they were not worth almost $20. The owner was very rude with my husband and I. She went on and on about how she was NOT taking the crab cakes back even though we did not touch them. She was not apologetic about our cold food and long wait. Her attitude was terrible and it mad me very sad because this was my birthday and I was treated really bad by that restaurant that day. I wouldn’t advise anyone to visit this place.
I absolutely love this restaurant. I've never had a bad experience. The food & service is always amazing. I stopped by today for the first, since this restaurant relocated from downtown. This brisket cheesesteak was amazing!! James did a great job with helping me at the bar!
Excellent place to visit!!.. Great food, friendly, courteous service.. establishment was very clean. My server (James) was very professional and attentive. The building sits right on the river, where there are walking trails and park access.. beautiful place to visit.
We were driving home from West Palm Beach Florida to NY and we stopped in Rocky Mt Saw the reviews on TripAdvisor. My favorite [email protected]! This was a delicious meal and so much fun. Leftovers... Enough for my 28 year old son at home to be full! I had shrimp and grits appetizer and beef brisket. Did not use the butter knife provided..not needed...fork tender with yams -delicious- and Mac and cheese, waitress recommended. Don't miss out!
We were looking for a good stopover for the night on a drive North from Florida. When we read about The Prime Smokehouse, we knew that Rocky Mount, N.C. was that place, and we we NOT disappointed! Ed Willey has created a wonderful Texas-style barbecue restaurant and jazz venue in the Rocky Mount Mills, a stunning multifunction development in an old cotton mill site. The restaurant is beautiful, the food was exceptional, the selection of microbrewed beers and cocktails was outstanding, and the service was caring and attentive. We even had a chance to talk to the chef and share our Philadelphia roots. The Prime Smokehouse will now be a destination stop whenever we are anywhere near North Carolina! We look forward to a return visit.
