So I will preface this by saying that my husband and I have enjoyed the food and the ambiance here in the past. This review is based on our experience ordering take out and the response we received from management. We ordered two dishes - the vegetarian pasta and a salad with the option of adding grilled chicken to both. We have done that in the past with no issue and without the chicken would not have ordered these two dishes - we would have made other choices. We picked up our meals and when we got home noticed that the chicken for both dishes was missing. We called the restaurant to tell them and we were told we could drive back to get the chicken (which at this point would not have been freshly cooked) OR, if we wanted a refund, would need to come in for that too and they would need us to come in for the refund THAT EVENING if we wanted it. We explained that we were unable to do either and that no chicken effectively rendered the meal as something different from what we ordered and we were unable to drive back for either the refund or the chicken. In this day and age, it's ridiculous that anyone would have to be there in person in order for a refund to be issued on a credit card (which is how we paid in the first place). And missing 2 important parts of the meal made the food something different from what we ordered or hoped for. They said that the two options they gave were all they were willing to do. The person we spoke to was rude, offered zero apology for the mistake, and said that we needed to be fair to the restaurant. Apparently us driving to pick up the order and then drive back to fix the matter was a burden that was reasonable for the customer but some attempt for the restaurant to do something more for regulars was a burden for the restaurant. Anyway, long story to say that we were going there pretty regularly (about once a week) and it's the way we were treated (and not the mistake itself) that left us feeling that our money was better spent elsewhere. Oh, and since we weren't able to drive back that night, we did not receive a refund for the food we paid for but never got.
We chose this restaurant because it was family friendly. Although there was no issues bringing my kids, the menu wasn’t very picky kid friendly. The service was incredibly slow and the portions were on the small side. We ordered a craft hard cider and it was warm. The food did taste good although it was Luke warm at best. I would not return considering all of the other breweries in the area.
This was a great place. The beer was excellent and purchased appetizer fried collards and shishito peppers, yummy. The Reuben nachos were also excellent. I will be going back.
What a lovely place, first off, and he staff are very friendly and helpful, there is high seating in the bar area, I personally like the bar side, lower seating is available in the back room or the porch. The food is excellent, I had their moules frites and their cheddar burger, we also had the buffalo cauliflower, again and excellent choice. A nice beer selection too. Restrooms are clean and situated indoors to the side of the bar. Parking is just outside, not too many spaces but there is a large parking lot just down the road if you can't get in. Other things to note, there are five breweries around this place! So make a few hours of it and visit the breweries as well.A great experience here with awesome food, we will be back.
Good food, awesome craft beers as well as imports and domestics. Highly recommend! Will definitely be back!
Heading down i95 we saw some info about the Mills. Not far off the highway and it is in a really cool complex with several different businesses. Had the Mediterranean cauliflower, Moules Frites and a burger. Everything was excellent from the staff to the food. Best part about this stop is that we have to pass by on our way home! They really do a great job with this restaurant.
Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Definitely coming back
We showed up right before 10pm after working an event at Rocky Mount Mills. It was the only place still serving food. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. All the options on the menu looked amazing and lots of unique options. Myself and my companion decided on salads. We both ordered the Tavern Cobb salad with grilled chicken per the server's recommendation. Salad was fresh and tasty. Chicken cooked perfect. Server gave us some beer suggestions and brought us a taste of a couple, of which we expressed interest. Just as we finished eating the owner of the establishment stopped by our table and asked how we were doing and if we enjoyed everything. Everyone was super friendly, very clean, comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Would highly recommend and would like to return again myself. I am not a beer drinker. I ordered the cider and really enjoyed it.
great food fast service. scotch eggs and porchetta are a must.
The jalapeno poppers were very good. I also had a margarita which was good (they could lay off so much ice) The key lime pie is great it is tart but the crust is delicious. It is $10 for a slice. The drinks run about $10 each. I like the atmosphere we sat on the enclosed deck they have heat lamps. They are a little pricey but nice spot overall.
