We've been here twice, both during Covid. Our first visit bordered on quite good, and I posted a review then. On our second visit, I ordered fried flounder and found so many bones that I was unable to eat only less than 1/4 of my meal. Unfortunately, for a restaurant that I had hoped would become a regular for us, we won't be visit the Mayflower again.
Best seafood I ever had. MyPlate was so full the shrimp were falling off.My trout were delicious.Had a good waitress that cared if we were satisfied.Great visit,and food.
This wasn't my best experience dining in at this location. My hushpuppies were not cooked enough and the crabcakes could have been browned a little more. The waitress was not hospitable at all. She dropped our food off and never came back around. It wasn't busy, so that was a good thing.
Laughable! We came in, stood around for a bit wondering what the delay was. Hostess came to her station, twice, looked at the seating chart, completely ignored us (party of 2) and wandered off. Not a look of acknowledgement or explanation for the wait. A group of 4, ahead of us, were waiting on a bench and informed us that they had been waiting 30 minutes to be seated. Place was no where near being busy. We left and went to Wilson where we will go from now on. 4/2/2022 @ 3PM.
Very slow service.. One person doing 3 jobs. Could not even stay and enjoy a meal because it took too long to be seated and I was on a time limit. The people that were seated didn't while I waited hadn't even gotten their drinks or entertain by a waitress or waiter.
Will not eat anything from there the service was horrible we waited for our food for over 20 minutes not once did the waiter come to our table and they were not busy the table next to us had a drink that had spilled on the floor and no one cleaned it up so after waiting for over 20 minutes we decided to leave
All meals are very large portions! Can be easily split between 2 people! We left with more leftovers than we would have started with at other places! Super friendly staff! Even gave us plastic silverware to eat our leftovers at our hotel. Good food too!
Waitress was on the ball!! Though they were extremely short staffed the person waiting on my table and like 10 more rock and rolled!! Excellent waitress, food okay, cashier was not friendly at all.
This was the worst food we have ever got from the Mayflower!!! Mayflower in Rocky Mount. Ordered a large flounder plate and it was cooked till it was all dark and crispy...no white fish and no taste. Nothing to eat. $33 for 2 plates and all I got was hard, dried out, crunchy stuff.
I love Mayflower but this trip was disappointing. My blomming onion was under cooked and my fried shrip was soggy. Service was good. Great waitress. About it.
