We had a very disappointing experience tonight. Took our son & his girlfriend to this location for dinner. The chips served with the spinach artichoke dip were extremely stale. We asked for fresh chips and after a long wait, the waitress came back accompanied by a man saying he had just finished cooking the chips & they are hot. We tried some of the "fresh" chips and they tasted like stale chips that had been reheated. My hand battered fish & chips were very greasy and the fries looked like they were leftovers that had been re-cooked. The waitress needs training - she was not friendly & did not check on us even one time throughout our meal - it was NOT busy (only 3 other tables had guests) We had to flag her down to get the stale chips replaced, also to get tarter sauce for the fish & chips, another time to get a drink refill, and she never brought our napkins. Applebee's definitely gets a failing grade for tonight's food as well as service.
Worst restaurant in Rocky Mount. Ordered for pick-up. Food was supposed to be ready by 8:00. Hostess keeps coming to me with excuses. It’s now approaching 8:30, still no food. Some brain dead brother with dreads tries to hand me someone else’s food. I tell him it’s not mine. As I’m talking to the manager, the same brother starts yelling at me that nobody cares about your food or how long you’ve been waiting, etc. all in front of the manager. I asked to have the order cancelled and my money refunded. I will never go to that Appleby’s ever again. Have a feeling the mouthy waiter won’t even be reprimanded. Seems to be the atmosphere there. No one cares. No wonder it’s never busy.
We waited 15-20 mins for a seat. Everyone already seated were waiting and complaining about the wait for thier food. The manager was trying to calm most of the customers. Our waitress told us it was a shift change and we would get another waiter. We arrived at 5pm. The bartender got into an argument with a customer over a drink. There was yelling and back and forth words between them until the manager came out the back and gave the lady a credit for the drink she was dissatisfied with. My understanding was that the bartender had called her broke for not wanting to pay for the $5 drink which the customer said was weak.The chips with our spinach dip were hard, we had to ask for more chips. I ordered the sirloin steak med rare. It was overcooked. My cousin's food Ribs with mashed potatoes was cold she sent it back. It took forever to get out food we didn't leave until 6:30pm. They were short staffed but most of the people working there were sitting around at a table chit chatting with each other. They definitely need more waiters. The guy we did have as our waiter was very good and on his job. I believe he was an assistant manager. I wouldn't return here to dine.
We were hoping to eat here after a long drive from Massachusetts, maybe 5 tables were occupied hostess took 10 minutes to decide where to sit us (2 people) then said they had to bus a table which took 5 minutes, and then said it would be another 5 to wipe it down(Christ I knew carpenters who can build one quicker) so we sat there about 15 and no one said nothing to us so we left we went next door got great supper!!!
Service was slow. The greeters at the door (young women) were all gathered together (3) talking not paying attention to customers entering the restaurant. We stood there for 5 minutes before they acknowledged us.
Togo order took over 1hr before it was finally brought out. Had to take it back in 2 times as food was missing. After main dishes were all finally there we just cut our losses and took what we got. There was still items missing at the end of it all. A lot of staff just standing around at the front while we waited for order. Not a good experience.
We visited this Applebees on a very busy Sunday night. Our server, Tim was very friendly and efficient. We both commented on how hard the manager, Jordan was working to help his staff. We watched him bus tables, wash dishes and take orders. Wherever he saw a need, he just jumped in. So nice to see such a great work ethic in a young man.
Apart from the very attentive and courteous service from the waiter and manager, this was one of the worst Applebee's I have even been to. The food was awful. Medium burger was way over cooked and broken in half. The French onion soup, if you could call it that was terrible. Little to no soup and cheese on top barely melted. I would give it zero stars if I could.
I love this bourbon chicken with shrimp I always get on Applebees, but this location I traveled on rocky mount, Nc, was the worst one. Came all grease, I think they put the hole onion with to maskerade the chicken was over cook or it’s already made and reheated. And the sad part came exactly 4 shirimps , that’s ridiculous for the price . I end up eating only the mashed potatoes with the 4 shirimp . This is not the same one I eaten before in my location in Jacksonville, nc this on the picture was the exactly what it came on my plate, the rest of the onions was underneath the chicken. I waited 30 minutes for someone to serve me but no one even bothered to look in my direction. Every one just passed by and pretended as if I wasn’t even there. I understand that it may be busy but it doesn’t take much to quickly ask someone “have you been helped yet”. Poor service.
