I really wanted to like this place but I've been on numerous occasions and have tried 3 different pastries and they are simply not good. The butter and chocolate croissants are tough and taste old or overcooked, I even took friends the second time and they agreed it was one of the worst croissants they have ever had. I even went back in the bakery and told them it was inedible and got the almond croissant as a replacement which was fairly good, so I will give it 2 stars. I even tried the cinnamon roll hoping for a better outcome and it was tough and tasted days old, I've given up on this place! I will say that staff is friendly and their coffee is pretty decent.

Wonderful neighborhood bakery with great staff - shout out to Grace and Melinda in the front! Seasonal favorites: Carrot Cake, Thyme Lemonade, berry jam, rice crispy treats, Salted Pecan Pie... The cinnamon raisin bread is the bomb! I'm lucky if I get half the loaf home before eating it in the car. French batard is the best white bread in town. Just go!

It’s always a treat to see an artisan bake shop working hard to please locals but with so much standout competition, Yellow Dog Bakery falls short. Flavors are not memorable but pleasant. Pastry skills are good enough but lacking. Yellow Dog is a fine place to visit for a bite or a loaf if you’re in the neighborhood but for a really special experience, try somewhere else.

Delicious & welcoming! The staff member who helped us had the perfect recommendations – I can’t praise the focaccia enough! We also thoroughly enjoyed our chocolate chip scone & lattes. I believe the listing may be misleading, though, as there is no wifi here (perhaps due to no indoor seating I assume due to covid?). That wasn’t a huge issue for me, but I figured I’d lend a heads up!

Staff was nice however food was disappointing. Stopped for a pastry and looks like they forgot to put the pimento cheese in the croissant. The iced tea was very weak. Won't be returning; I'll spend my $6 +tip somewhere else.

This is around a 5 minute walk from where I stay so it's super convenient. Everyone I know raves about this place. I've had their sticky bun which is huge and really good. I will definitely be going back to try their other pastries since they are so close to me.

Fantastic selection of baked goods. Great pricing

Good coffee and chocolate chip scone, but the staff was very rude. I ordered a small coffee, but it spilled all over me because the lid didn't close all the day. I complained it to the staff, and as she was giving me a larger cup, she said "because of supply chain issues, we are having issues with small cups." and she went to say with a very condescending attitude "It's not my fault." Well, it is your fault because 1) you knowingly used the small cups that don't close properly and 2) if you knew the small cups don't close properly, you should use the large cups to avoid situations like this. She made it sound like I wasn't the first one to spill drinks all over. Had she just simply apologized, I would have been fine, but it was her attitude. I'm not the one to complain usually, but I had an important meeting right after, and I had coffee all over my shirt and I smelled like coffee all day!

Get here early on weekends. There's usually a line out the door.

Yellow Dog has the best coffee and scones in Raleigh. I would recommend to anyone.
