My two roosters experience started off with me and my friends getting in a line trickling out of the door. One of my friends tried to get a sample but he couldn’t get one. I got a Girl Scout mint milkshake and it was really good. Although I do appreciate the thought of putting little thin mints into the shake, it felt like it just added mushy bits in it. I really enjoyed the outdoor seating and the overall experience.
Ice cream at Two Roosters is such a treat. I love how creative they are with the flavors. There is always a new flavor that I want to try! I do find the current method of ordering rather awkward - you have to hold the door open the whole time and need to lean over a table to grab your order. But there are lots of places to sit outside and enjoy the ice cream. Highly recommend!
Given all the press this place has been getting, I was excited to give it a try. The Coffee and Bourbon shake sounded good! It wasn't. It tasted like cheap, store-bought ice cream, with only a hint of coffee flavor, and no Bourbon flavor whatsoever. The chunks of ice in it indicated the ice cream had likely melted and been refrozen more than once. My wife's scoop of Lemon Bar ice cream was no better. The chunks of Lemon Bar in it looked like there were spots of green mold. It all went into the trash. Very disappointing.
Two Roosters made our hot end of May wedding an absolute DELIGHT! We loved that they even had a DELICIOUS dairy free option. We absolutely recommend having them at your event!
I enjoyed my visit here, the ice cream is delicious. It is a bit pricey for one scoop at $5 and two scoops for $7. It's not the best ice cream I've had in the Raleigh area but it is good. A variety of flavors to choose from and quick service. Finding a table can be a bit tricky since the beer place next door uses the outdoor picnic tables as well (they needed to be cleaned as they were sticky).
They've got limited but interesting flavors that you won't see anywhere else. They also have the best waffle cones. The flavors are decent but a bit mild. I have two big complaints:1. The portions - a single scoop is way too much. I was not expecting, nor wanting that much ice cream. Not to mention it's a bit pricey for what it is. Two singles in waffle cones were $12 (plus tip).2. The ice cream had ice crystals in it.Overall not bad and you can get two flavors in one scoop, so there's that, just be ready to eat a lot of ice cream.
We commissioned two roosters to set up an ice cream bar at our wedding this past weekend. Mackie was absolutely wonderful to work with! From start to finish they made everything seamless. We had so many complements on how delicious the ice cream was! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cake alternative!
Outdoor seating only at this time. Great ice cream. Usually 2 vegan flavors as well. Fun atmosphere (family friendly) at this little shop which is located in a small but busy shopping center.
Decent ice cream. The rotating monthly flavors are generally more flavorful than their standard flavors, many of which are pretty plain for my taste. I'd love it, for example, if the cinnamon donut flavor was stronger (chunks of donut in it would be pretty great as well). As it is, it's a pretty subtle flavor. One of the monthly flavors as of this writing, the oatmeal scotchie, however, is delicious.
We tried this place for the first time on a Saturday evening after dinner. It was very cold outside, and we were lucky that there wasn’t a line due to the inside being closed. I understand, however, that this is a Covid protocol. I got the mint flavor that is made with thin mint Girl Scout cookies, and it was delicious! She tried the milk and cookies (and let me have a bite!) and it was super good! I highly recommend this place!
