the food was Amazing, the staff Friendly nice atmosphere!

The meats are terrific. Great taste!

Incredible atmosphere, great service with management and servers focused on making you comfortable and happy. Frank the manager is incredible. It is the small things. We will definitely go back!

Coming from NYC I wanted to experience the true NC barbecue experience. Everything was good but the pulled pork. It was extremely dry and didn’t taste fresh. I was quite surprised. Aside from that, the service was excellent. Wont be going back.

My only issue was how slow the service was. It was 25 minutes from the time we sat down until waiter took our food order. A table that sat after us had their food on their table before we ordered. The food did come fast and the rest of the service was normal. A different waitress took our second drinks order wrong, but they didn’t charge us for it. I will recommend this restaurant as the food is top notch.

Very good. Will go again. Better parking now. But it’s paid parking

Food was delicious and service was excellent

Waitress made a recommendation on a sampler platter and it was plenty for the three of us. Had both eastern & western BBQ on it and the sides were delicious as well.

I don't know if it's the current environment with staffing that I should blame. My waitress and the rest of the staff was working together. I worked in restaurants for 25 yrs. Mostly hands on management, fine dining etc. I know restaurants and that can persuade my judgement. I can be a little picky. However, I do know that when there is just plain out bad food, that's most likely staffing not being trained correctly and quality of food served is food vendor or again training. The PIT is a staple in Raleigh for dining. I was given 2 slices not much bigger than a slice of bacon each, and mostly fat. A 1/4 cup of mashed potatoes with very little gravy (I ordered extra gravy) and a 1/4 cup of Brussel sprouts. $16.99 from the lunch menu. Now yes. brisket can be fatty and that's a favorable part for me, but c'mon! It was far from tender and I know it sat in the window for a bit as there was crust built up on the mashed potatoes. My son got the catfish and the coleslaw was hot from being under the window. Overall there is staffing issues, but you HAVE to deliver good food, especially for that price and what I received. I can afford to buy a few meals to equate one.. but make sure what your delivering is good. The drinks were atrociously too strong. I like a good stiff drink, but damn.. No cost cuts there! lol I'm chalking this up as a forgive but not forget. We will not be back. We have been there with 20+ in a group on holidays.' Last time was a year ago or so and the food declined back then. Sorry this well known establishment has become such a let down.

Delicious biscuits before dinner. Ordered 3 item combo entree and all barbecue items were delicious. Will definitely visit this restaurant again.
