I'm not a big fan of giving out bad reviews. Here's the upsides and downsides of the place. The bartender? Older lady, she was nice and made sure that if I had an empty glass that there would be more to come. She talked with most of the other customers a decent amount. I don't do that, so she's definitely doing her job and friendly. Rum and coke was a bit of a strong pour too. Good for the customer.Downside? The cheese steak sandwich? Mediocre. The pizza? Dude, it's just mozzarella melted ontop of a tortilla with just a smidgen of tomato sauce. $8 for that reminds me how much I would've preferred to just buy some rum and coke then go to a little Caesars.Atmosphere? Good. From a Tuesday night, I didn't expect a lot of people but the people around were chill. They had plenty of TVs and some gambling machines. Not my thing, but if it's yours, congrats.Overall, the food killed the experience. It's hard to chill out with a couple drinks and watch hockey when you're spending more time wondering why you just spent $8 on a tortilla with cheese. You could buy like 7 of those from a Taco Bell and save more money, basically. All things considered, just don't come here hoping for good bar food. If you don't, then you'll have a good night.
Always excellent service. Generous pours. Great bartenders. Crowd on the older and stranger end. Which is actually a good thing.Very quiet/slow. Has so much more potential. And food is always excellent.
Sandwich had less meat then I'm use to seeing for a Rubin. But tasty and a small eater so I expected to have half for my toddler but not the case.
My favorite place for a bloody Mary and a hearty breakfast.
These pictures are at individual locations but have meaning to me enjoy
I lived in the Loft apartments nearby for almost 4 years. So many great memories are made (and often not remembered) at Bull & Bear. The definition of the corner dive bar. Miss this place. I try to go every time I come back to Raleigh.
First time trying The Bull & Bear. I seen they had good reviews and fried pickles. I am a major fried pickle fan. I ordered fried pickles and hotdogs. I went in and the worker was doing the best he could working with the bar and making sure the food was coming. He was polite and inviting! I will definitely come back for more fried pickles. The food was amazing. I didn’t get the guys name that was working that night but you are amazing and keep doing what you are doing!
New to the area and the bartender and the locals made me feel at home. Great place even greater people
