If you have never tried the vegetarian sushi, you are missing out. It's as tasty and filling as the seafood rolls. When we come, we usually stick to the simplest rolls, because the quality of the ingredients is so high that you get amazing flavor out of a roll with only a few components. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and the staff (especially Eric) is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.
Wow. This was some really good food! We lucked out on going when it was not busy (you should sign up for the waitlist on Yelp when you’re on the way). We tried the XO Tuna cold dish, and the Kiss of Fire and Truffle Tuna special rolls. Each dish had a unique taste and was very flavorful like garlic ponzu, truffle aioli, and yuzu masago. The fish tasted very fresh, especially the nigiri pieces that we tried. We were pleasantly surprised about how much everything ended up totaling too, we think it is worth the price. We had great service.
I got the slow roasted pork belly and tuna avocado roll and salt rock tuna app and the rainbow roll. Everything was very good, rainbow roll was the best of the 4 items. I think this is the best sushi place in the area. I rate it above M sushi in Durham especially for the price.
SHOW UP EARLY IF YOU MAKE RESERVATIONS!!!Would be 5 stars, but they gave away our table of 4 to someone else when we were only 6 minutes late. We had trouble finding the actual location because there are no signs out front to show where the actual restaurant was. The hostess didn't really seem to understand how to use the app/ system that they use as when we asked to be put on the wait list for the next table, she didn't take down our name nor our phone number to contact us when the table was ready. Convenient that Iron Oaks was right next door so we were able to grab a drink while waiting, but we never got a confirmation text or anything when our table was ready so we had to keep physically going back to check to see if our table was ready or if it was going to be given away again. It delayed our actual dinner time to 1.5-2 hours past what we originally planned which delayed the plans for the rest of the evening. After we were seating, the food was PHENOMENAL! The toto and salmon belly nigiri were fresh and delicious! They also use fresh wasabi which was amazing to pair with the fish.
Quality Sushi for lunch and diner. Small place but Delicious food and great ambiance. Love the lunch bento. Have been for lunch with friends and definitely be back for dinner.
Great dishes... though it may sound familiar it is not your usual sushi... very, very good. Nice portions. We had a large group, they sat us in the lobby which was great as we could be loud in our conversation. Great service. Great staff.
Best sushi ? ? in Raleigh no contest. Great service. Great work y'all! Can't wait to see the new place!:
I was visiting Raleigh for the first time and got a recommendation from family to try this place. I was blown away by the quality of the sushi and the different flavors of the yellowtail crudo. I was pleasantly surprised by every aspect of Sushi Mon and hope to come back again!
Let’s face it, great sushi in Raleigh is hard to find. After trying many in the area, we like Sushi Mon the best. The service is great and the sushi is fresh and tasty. We spoke with the owner, Chris, last night. He spent time learning his craft in LV and CA before settling down to raise his family in our fine state. He and his staff were very attentive as we devoured what they put in front of us.Try the Rock Salt Seared Salmon and thank me later. We loved it so much that we had one as an appetizer and another for dessert. ?
