Have been here several times and I really enjoy the food and drinks. There is also plenty of outdoor seating, which is nice. The reason I am not giving 5 stars is that the last few times I’ve been, it has been CRAZY with children. Its a restaurant, its fine for children to be there. But I’m talking, groups of children kicking soccer balls into wine glasses, kids running into the parking lot, baby birthday parties, etc. It feels like a park. If you want a quiet drink/meal, either go late or consider going somewhere else.
STANDARD BEER + FOOD5 OUT OF 5 ?????*The summer beer reviews keep on coming. And let me tell you, Standard may be one of my favorite spots in Raleigh. I said it. It has the vibe I've been looking for in a Brewery and restaurant. Great indoor and outdoor seating, right next to shopping and Yellow Dog. And really awesome beer called Howdy Y'all, which is inspired by ranch water. It's got a little bit of lime, agave and just the best taste around.*What I regret not doing when I went was trying their food. They have a killer menu and I didn't eat any of it. So I'll be coming back for that sometime this summer, because I can't stop thinking about it.
Food was pretty good, but I was given the wrong taco (still tasted good, just wrong topping) and then tried the QR ordering- 17 minutes for one drink. $47 later, can't say it was worth it. Disappointed because vibe is cool.EDIT: My husband had tried to let them know about the wait time in restaurant, but the bar line was quite long. After speaking with someone on the phone after we left, they immediately responded with apology and a bill adjustment. Happy with that service so updating review to 4 stars. always happy when a restaurant does what it can for good service.
Great food and drinks at Standard. Enjoyed a lovely afternoon with a Painkiller, beer, tacos, and a chicken sandwich. All were top notch with a delightful view of Raleigh City Farm. Ordering is by QR code and service is fast - highly recommended.
We used to love coming here for the run club. The beer is phenomenal and the chile smashburger is incredible. Great outdoor seating. Not so great bike parking. Tour the city farm next door while you're here.
This place is great. You may be thrown off at first with the QR code system. Basically you need to find a table, scan the code, make your order and it will be quickly brought to you. If your someone who really loves table service then this maybe an adjustment for you. Now that we know the system we love it, it's super easy and way less of a hassle. However you can eat at the bar if you want a more traditional experience. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. I keep going back for those steak tacos!
Great interesting menu! We got the sweet potatoes, beets, Al pastor taco, and shrimp taco. They had an interesting wine selection which I appreciated, especially seeing an orange wine on the menu even though it wasn’t my favorite. Will definitely return!
trendy little brew pub in downtown raleigh. beer was solid, great menu of drinks, and the food is so much better than i expected. Service was a little slow but who isn't these days. despite the slower service, the staff were VERY friendly. I'll be back in the near future.
We may have eaten here 6 times in the last 2 weeks. It’s all incredible. Beet salad, the best steak tacos, burgers, tater tots (and more). We live in the neighborhood and keep coming back. They’ve nailed the balance of food quality, incredible cocktails and a casual, relaxed atmosphere. We’ll probably be back tomorrow!
I may have posted on Standard before, but had some wings this time. Bear in mind, this is during the great wing shortage of 2021-2022, so they are a bit scarce. The wings were on the small side, but were excellent, and the sauce was very good. Order a taco at the same time, as the sauces they provide with them are delicious as well. LOL, it just ask for extra sauces. Service was excellent, and they had some lighter beers that you can drink without worry.
