What a great gem off the beaten path! The food is priced so fairly for what you get, but quality that rivals most places in Raleigh. We went all out and split several dishes between us all - was a great way to try multiple items.Ours faves - anything with smoked duck... seriously. The ribs and wings were both also delicious!We will be back!
We had the duck tacos and steak frita tonight and deviled eggs for appetizer . It was all absolutely delicious and presented well. Ashlee was a great waitress and host, she answered all of questions and truly seemed happy to serve us! Will definitely be back soon, wife is going Friday for takeout. Local beers on tap and great selection of store beers as well. You will not be disappointed!
I love the location, building, and no frills ambiance. This is a great little neighborhood corner eatery. The turkey sandwich was great, as was the chicken pot pie, which had a smokey depth. Service was friendly and fast enough for me to be satisfied! We will be back at some point for sure!
A wonderful discovery just a few blocks from downtown in the lovely Oakwood area. The service was stellar and the food was delicious with perfect presentation. Good selection of micro brews and wine.The menu changes often and carries both comfort and gourmet dishes priced fairly.Seating inside is limited but more seating is available outside.I will definitely be back here soon.
Was really excited to come here based on the menu alone..parking : downtown Raleigh, but not absurdambiance : nice, warm, cozy and some board gamesfood: waited 30+ minutes for food, asked about it and got a semi rude responsefries were burnt and didn't taste like truffles and the parmesan was low quality but we didn't want to say anything since we were hungry and didn't want to wait.the brisket was delicious, the swordfish was just alrightwe did get a cookie when we mentioned that it was burnt .probably not coming back

Been here twice now and it’s a great local spot with total comfort food. The menu changes daily (no idea how they do that). Destiny is an awesome waitress if you get her. Can’t wait to try the place for brunch. Go here!
Just had the perfect New Year’s Day lunch. The poke was melt in your mouth, the black eyed peas and greens were spot-on and I soaked up all the left over juices with an awesome piece of cornbread. Another awesome meal prepared by Ben and Holly.
Smokestacks is such a gem tucked in Oakwood! Super tasty food, great beer & wine selection, & great family! They have catered several events for us & our friends raved about the food! Highly recommend!
The staff and service were excellent, however my Korean short rib was not. Although some elements of the dish were flavorful, I was unable to cut through this piece of meat. I couldn't chew it because I couldn't cut it, so I had to spit it out. I regret that I didn't send it back. I won't be back ;(
