Got here early on Father's Day, just a few other tables were sat and put our order in. After waiting for 35 minutes without so much as a visit from our server, we gave up and canceled our food order, at which point they suddenly got in a hurry and after making us wait another 5 minutes, tried to serve our food after we already explained we were out of time. The margarita was good. Can't speak to the food but the service was awful.
There for Father's Day lunch. Not at all crowded, which was a pleasant surprise. And a good thing since they were clearly understaffed. Interior decor was simple but nice. Carnitas were overcooked but had a nice flavor. Patio seating was nice. A rare day in June with a really great cool breeze and no humidity. Food will not impress but it is ok. Really great menu variety offered.
We decided to come here to celebrate one of our girls' 14th birthday before playing laser tag. The environment and server were both fantastic. We all really enjoyed our lunches and the options. They had a few vegetarian options for me and quite a few gluten free choices as well. Overall, it's definitely a place we'll be back to again whenever we're in the area.
Eh. Disappointing. Prices are high for what it is. Their prices say “we’re a step up”, like $14 standard combos, but the salsa is tasteless, chips were semi-stale, presentation was completely lacking, service was slow and women’s bathroom was gross. Oh- and the standard 4% convenience fee?? I give em’ two stars because they have a nice size outdoor space and good (but very expensive) drinks.
My food was good but my husband's came out cold (fajitas) usually sizzling hot. And when we ask the waiter to get our waitress/server, she never came until it was time to get our tab. Service was awful.
Definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant. Gives places like Toreros a run for its money. The service is good and the food is even better.
The table side homemade guacamole was awesome and chips were great as was the salsa. My spinach chicken enchiladas were really good good too! Did not love the green sauce, but ok for a change. Service was good too!
My wife and I visited on a Sunday afternoon. They were busy and understaffed in the front, but the service was good. This was our first time trying San Jose. The decore was excellent and gave us the appearance of a upperend Mexican restaurant. Sadly that wasn't our experience. The food was good, but just average at best. The chips we believe were purchased and not cooked on site. We both had the seafood chimichanga. We both liked it, but the quality was not up to what we have had at other area restaurants.Having said all of that, we will certainly try San Jose again, hopefully we just hit it on an off day. We like the out of the way location, and the decor. The pricing seemed a bit higher than the other area Mexican restaurants and I am okay with that it the food kicks it up a couple of notches.
My friends and I have been going here every Tuesday since I moved to NC in 2020, and we’ve never been disappointed! The taco Tuesday deal is hard to beat, and the margaritas are so good. We always request Alex, who is a fantastic waiter and very personable. Even on the busiest days he is very attentive and always has a smile on his face. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area!
friendly and always welcoming
