Customer service is sorely lacking. The servers constantly complained about the lack of servers but I found that beyond that issue, the place has an overall poor service mentality. Instead of greeting guests and explaining to them that there may be a wait for service, the employees are running around looking and acting annoyed and ignoring anyone coming in the door or up to the bar. A little training goes a long way. This morning we were sat at a table but watched as three other men came in after us were all greeted and offered menus and drinks before us. This is not a shortage of servers. This is a lack of professionalism and service and cherry picking your customers. Save your money and your mood and walk to a nearby locale. We left and went to Big Ed’s and had a much better experience.
I have been to this restaurant in the Raleigh, NC Marriott 4x now and have gotten the salmon each time! It is my favorite thing to get when I come to town! The service from the bartenders is great! They all smile and treat me professionally each time I come in! Kristen, Daniel and Alyssa have all served me, and I have zero complaints about any of them! Keep up the good work! And thank you! 10 out of 10 would recommend!
We stopped in for dinner and had a great experience! My daughter and I split a couple of entrees and the food was amazing!
Usually, Rye's food is delicious! It's nice that you can get to Rye from the convention center without going outside. That's what we did last Saturday at 11:30am. We were seated immediately and served ice water. We asked for menus and learned that there was only a buffet. Disappointing. We went to the buffet, and it was only breakfast. We wanted to order lunch off the menu. The fruit variety was good. The muffins were cold. The eggs and meats just okay. Not worth $19 plus tax and tip. We would have spent less on a lunch off the menu and been really pleased. I don't know if they always offer only a buffet on Saturdays or if this is because of events downtown that day, worker shortage, or etc. Our waitress didn't tend to us well, but we still tipped her. When I tried to call a few days later during open hours to ask some questions and provide feedback, I wasnt able to reach anyone. I was also trying to reach someone in the bar to ask a question about their seasonal drink specials and bar hours. No luck.
Good food but expect RUDE service. On two occasions I’ve had to visit the hotel for a tournament and when entering the restaurant they will literally leave you standing there. If you are closed simply say I’m sorry we are closed. I walked to the bar and two people continued to work and not acknowledge my presence. I eventually asked and they responded. The first occasion I came and had to ask again for some help. It’s one thing if no one is available but to actually see people working in front of you and not even say hello or someone will be with you is ridiculous. Jimmy V’s across the street in the Sheraton has outstanding customer service!! Just hop across the street and you will immediately notice the difference. We are even staying at the Sheraton from now on!!
My family was staying at this hotel so we came for breakfast. Hands down works breakfast I’ve had. Everything came out cold and nothing tasted very good. Would recommend taking a walk and eating elsewhere if you’re staying at the Marriot.
Honestly, I am sure the food is good but the service was absolutely horrible. Went to the bar to order two bloody Marys. Stood there like I was invisible. After 10 minutes someone finally took my order to roll her eyes at me and say “it’s going to take awhile”. Continue to serve everyone else around me and disappeared. Decided to stay a little longer and she never came back. So, after about 30 minutes I left. Won’t be back anytime soon?♀️
Wanted to give a big shoutout to our server Jayana from this morning!! She went way above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our breakfast. From hunting down an elusive bottle of tomato juice to automatically reordering eggs because she felt they had been a bit over cooked. They were and I was grateful she took the initiative as I would have just eaten them and chalked it up to a busy kitchen and considered it a mediocre meal. Thanks Jayana, you were amazing!
My husband and I held a brunch here the day after our wedding and the food and staff were fabulous. It was exactly what we needed after our event, and the chef and staff were so accommodating. I really appreciated all of the attention to detail. And the breakfast food was excellent.
The service is great!! The food is meh. I asked if the kitchen tends to over cook burgers so I would know how to order. I like medium rare but got medium because i was told they undercook. Well my burger was WELL done, tough and dry. I asked for mustard and ketchup on the side and did not get it. The Yukon potatoes were really dry. If you go I recommend sitting at the bar for cocktails. The service is great, the food, not so much ?♀️ Also the online menu is not the actual menu.
