EDIT as of 6/5: attention to detail on orders has improved drastically since my previous review. Still an occasional miss but nowhere near what it used to be. Giving credit where its due. Always fast order times for to go.Location constantly ignores the additional options selected in online orders. 50/ 50 chance we will be charged for extra protein options but not receive them.
Pei Wei was easily one of my favorite places to eat several years ago. Due to inconsistencies and poor management I stopped going. Today, I decided to try things out once again.I walked in and was greeted by staff who were quite friendly. This is where the pleasantries stopped. I ordered a Mongolian chicken and forgot to specify brown rice (it's been awhile). Staff typically asks what kind of rice but today they did not and gave me the default- white rice.I found a seat and my food arrived promptly. The first thing I noticed was the overcooked white rice staring back at me (see picture below). After attempting to give the bowl a little mix I came across literal slabs of chicken, which were supposed to be bite size, accompanied by several stalks of green onions (see picture below) which were completely inedible.I couldn't bring myself to eat even half of this poorly-prepared "meal." I was beyond disappointed. There are tons of other, better Asian restaurants locally. I would steer clear of this location as your money is better spent elsewhere.
Although this taste good. Sooo not what I asked for. Was a great deal of confusion going on with orders while waiting on my food. No communication about the order until I asked after the fifteen minute window had passed. Did receive an apology for the wait. Should've been offered a drink or dessert. Even though I wouldn't have taken it. Just wanted my order. If your not in a hurry on a Friday evening, this is the place for you!! For me, just reminds me of why I don't order out that much. Won't be returning again to any Pei Wei.......
Ordered online for curbside pickup, and when I got there parked in the reserved spot, and followed the directions on the sign. I waited 10 min and no one came out, so I went in and there my order was sitting on the pickup shelf. Moral to this story, if you aren't going to honor curbside take the signs down. ???
I came to Pei Wei early in the morning, around the time of opening. I’m not entirely sure on when the special is on, but the cashier in front told me that it was still early and they just opened, so I couldn’t have the lunch special.P.S: I completely understand I was early, they just got there- If it makes it any better, I came in about 11:05am..?Not completely sure on when lunch special starts and ends, but all I heard was that it ends at 3, and that’s all. Maybe it’s Monday - Friday, and not Sunday.. Though, this makes me wonder~ 2 week ago I came, and they told me I could have the discount as it was before 3pm, on a Sunday. (She was nice)edit: Food was delicious, soo gooooood!!- That’s the reason for the 2 other stars!
Either they were in hurry or usual chefs were out. Portions varied for 4 entrees we ordered, each of bowls had very different quantities. My Kung Pao chicken had so much soy gravy, rice in my bowl was soaked with it. Not a very good experience.
Called to place an order. The rude woman that answered the phone said online orders only. Went online to order and their site wasn't working. Called back and the same even ruder worker told me it is working and argued with me. She could take the 5 minutes to argue with me but not 1 minute to take my order. Hire people that ACTUALLY WANT TO WORK! Never again
Classic chicken fried rice with shrimp and steak. Very moist, well seasoned and not your regular frugal portion of veggies or protein. Food was delish!!! Veggies were fresh.. food was ready in 12 minutes as promised. Will definitely order again.
I have never been one to write a review, but I feel that other patrons should be aware about this location. My family and I ordered dinner and I specifically got Won Ton Soup and Dumplings. Upon receiving the soup and tasting it, I could tell something was wrong as it felt like I was consuming soap. I had reached out to the employee and very politely asked if it would be possible to replace or even check on the soap in general because something was definitely wrong. This lead to the sever telling the cook that we wanted a new soup because it tasted like soap. The cook loudly shouted “How much soap does he want in his soup, a little or a lot”. At this point I felt very disrespected and my family and I were shocked and could not enjoy the rest of the meal. We did receive a refund for the soup but the rest of the experience felt uncomfortable as the employees continued to mock us. As I mentioned I have not written reviews before but this was single handled the worst dining experience I have experienced. I understand that many restaurants are short staffed and the cook might have been having a tough day but in the end all I want is respect and common decency.
I don't know if Pei Wei has gone down hill in general, or if it's just this location, but I've now had several bad food experiences at this particular location in Brier Creek. The latest was an attempt to order sesame chicken with a lovely picture on the menu of big chicken chunks and a ton of broccoli. My order came out with ONE piece of broccoli and a sparse helping of chicken in way too much sauce. Seems like if you cook stir fry all day you would have this figured out, but they do not. I won't be returning to this location; maybe the one on Falls is a little better.
