The customer service at this place has gone down hill so fast. Pulled up for a drive through and had to wait so long for someone to take my order I wondered if they were closed. When someone finally came to take my order she was so distracted I had to repeat myself at least 3 times. What brought us in was a coupon for a free shake, but of course their machine is down. I pull up to the window only to be screamed at to pull around and wait out front (even though no one is in line behind me). I mentioned to the woman screaming I needed sauces and a receipt. Of course the food came 10 minutes later without sauces or receipt so we have to walk into the store. Upon arriving home I also realize I got the wrong size fry and my husbands chicken sandwich is basically just breading. Would not come back to this location.
I decided to return to PDQ after several years of not eating there (due to location). I was excited for the fresh tenders and slim fries. However, some changes have been made and now the fries are bad, hard waffle fries. The chicken was tasteless. While the service was good, the meal was WAY over priced, and not what I was hoping for. Do not recommend, especially if you were an OG PDQ fan.
What has happened to this place? I remember when they first opened. The dining room was clean. Always greeted by an employee….could bring your kids and enjoy a quick service meal….today, all the chairs are stacked on the tables. No seating and once you walk in, instead of a common sense “hi welcome to PDQ, our dining room is closed, however I’d be more that happy to take your to go order…” instead I heard a girl tell me from somewhere back in the kitchen “we are only taking to go orders” and yes, that means you, as a customer, walk up and place your order and pay on an iPad, while the three employees stare at you. This place will be closed for good soon.
We went through the drive thru at around 7:25 PM on 6/11/22. We stopped at the menu board and took a minute or two to decide what we wanted, then pulled forward to the first window to order.. only to be greeted by nobody. Confused as to whether they were open, we pulled around front to see their hours and if anyone was inside. Turns out they were open until 8.. so we went back around to the first window as we had driven 10-15 mins to get there and, having worked in and managed restaurants for about 6 years, I know 30 minutes before close is still an acceptable time to order. We were greeted by a lady with glasses who had to unlock the first window to talk to us. She was one of the most miserable restaurant employees I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, and she was visibly upset that we were ordering at the drive thru 30 minutes before their published closing time. I proceeded with my order, only to find out that I would have to wait 20 minutes for spicy chicken tenders. Once again, having worked in restaurants before, and specifically with fried chicken, I knew that that timeframe was bogus and was meant to scare us off. So, out of spite, I asked her what they DID still have, and she went off to the kitchen to see. She returned maybe 20 seconds later and mentioned that they still had regular chicken tenders. So, we progressed with our small, easy order, and paid our $28 to continue on to the 2nd window. We were greeted by a nice woman at the 2nd window who gave us our drinks and asked us politely to pull forward to the stop sign while the order was made. Guess there was a wait anyway.. but at least she wasn't a miserable, mindless worker.Well, we waited about 10 or so minutes for the food, only to find they forgot the sauce and tenders were refried to appear "hot". While hot, they're also dry and extra crispy. The sad part about this is that the best part of my meal was the left over Chick Fil A sauce we had that I used in place of the sauce that was forgotten. This is why Chick Fil A will outdo restaurants like this any day of the week.. including Sunday when they are closed (I'd rather not go anywhere than drive to this place). Let's just say that I will never go back to this location unless I see a new management advertisement. Whoever the GM is, I sincerely hope they clean house and hire some competent, friendly staff. I worked for a very well-run limited service restaurant (also had a drive thru) and we fired people for a whole lot less.Do better.
First time trying PDQ and ordered the traditional tenders and fries. I felt like I was massively jipped on the fries. I hadn't eaten one fry before taking that picture and as you can see there are barely any in there. On top of that, they weren't close to being fresh. They weren't bad by any means, I just barely got any and they were cold. The tenders were good though and probably saved this review from being lower.
Well we went twice in a week. The first time all was good and food was as expected. 2nd time felt like chicken tenders were smaller size and they were cooked and cooked again. Extra crispy dark brown could taste extra grease.
Drive -Thru Visit Sunday: 4/17/2022 around 1PM ESTI would like to highly stress the SIGNIFICANT & IMMENSELY POOR service level at the PDQ Raleigh NC Falls of Neuse location.Upon entering the drive thru, we asked for a particular item that we have purchased on the menu on our prior 1st visit.Which were the sweet potato fries. - we were told: since COVID our items have changed.Understood. - thank you- no problem. We made modifications and proceeded with our order.Arriving to the 2nd window- we were never greeted. The Associate / manager opens the window & says: pull to the flag pole- we will bring it out.Not once, greeted, asked if condiment’s were needed, offered our beverages with the meal.NOTHING!!-She said if you don’t mind:I did mind- moving up- due to the fact several vehicles were already parked & our initial visit to this location required us to park for our drive thru order- in which I kindly enlightened her, and I told her that we ended up having to pull back around b/c the associate that came out asked us why were we just sitting in the parking lot. I explained during that visit that we have a paid receipt- with no completed order. We then re-entered the building- as the associates seemed dumbfounded- & were told our order would be refunded. Which never happened. Needless to say, I did not really sweat the issue. But today 4/17/22 was the last straw. This establishment & location is beautiful, but the associates & customer service are like “cancer” -(slowly killing this business from the inside out).My wife & I came back b/c we believe in giving businesses another try. However, if given the opportunity- I wouldn’t even come back if the meal items were free! I’m begging you- please coach- please re-train- please take time to adjust the small details that enhance customer service.Lastly- word of mouth travels faster than any marketing brand or commercial. I will always speak of this negative impact & suggest to others to avoid the same!
Best chicken sandwich EVER!! Downside was it was a rainy night and I waited over 15 min for my food to be brought out to me. The fries were literally between room temperature and cold. I grabbed a fry immediately as she handed me the bag and I couldn't believe it. It was no line so I didn't understand the wait
Horrible. Told us their crispy tenders were “messing up” after we waited for our order for over 15 minutes and that only grilled options were available. Eventually we found that they gave our order to someone else. Would not recommend wasting your time at this location. Go to the Cary location, way better.
PDQ is one of my favorite places to eat. But today on 4/7 I disliked the customer service I received from (Devin) in the drive thru. When I pulled up he was very nonchalant and was on his personal cellphone. I proceeded to place my order, then I had question about an item on the menu and he had no knowledge and act like he had an attitude. His phone rang again and he decided to answer it again. He sat the phone down and finished taking my order. He tells me the price and I give him my card. As I give my card to him he picks his phone back up. I couldn’t tell if he was taking a pic of my card or not but he surely had it for a nice amount of time with his phone in hand and still on the phone at the same time. If you visit this location please be weary of Devin in the drive thru and don’t expect any type of high level service.
