Truly American food! Being said that, you don’t want to have something spicy here. Serving size is quite large. I have ordered a lunch item, the main dish was kinda disappointing. The name I found on the menu was “chicken pastry”, when asked the server she said “yes, chicken dumplings”. But didn’t mention that the dish is only some dumpling wrappers boiled may be with chicken stock!! Only a hint of black pepper and some treasures amount of rotisserie chicken which was hard to find actually ? 2 sides (deviled egg and potato salad)were pretty large and delicious. On sides, they also serve fresh biscuits an hushpuppies. My husband had country style steak, which was average. The environment was nice. If you ever search for true bland American food, you might wanna stop here
This place is a true gem. The staff, the food, etc. just the best! Locally owned and operated and it shows. We’ve been taking our kids there since they were little and it’s the kind of place where they will take their kids for years to come..only reason I didn’t make it 5 stars is the bacon - while it’s tasty and cooked to perfection, it has a smoked flavor but would benefit from a bit of sweetness.
Restaurant has a small town feel, with exceptionally friendly staff and customers. It is a homestyle place, nothing fancy. However, the food is well prepared with generous portions. It is a cash only restuarant, rather unusual in today's market. However, the pricing proves very reasonable.I loved the place, as a first time customer. Will definitely return.
Great breakfast place. Visited a couple times when in Raleigh. Cash only so be prepared. Pancakes are huge and prices very reasonable. Service us fast and staff friendly. I would recommend.
A—mazing!!!Must have biscuits with sausage gravy!Grits are the best I’ve had in a long time. They know what a medium fried egg is! Almost couldn’t leave. Great service!!!
Great place. The customer service was phenomenal, the food was quite good. They only take cash, wish I had known before we sat down but there is an atm right at the door.I had a pancake and sausage, best pancake I've ever had. We got all the food in the photo and only paid $23.
This was a great place for Saturday morning brunch! There was a pretty long line when we got there, but it actually went pretty quickly. Everything was very good! The service was quick and the prices were very reasonable.
Smothered steak, pork BBQ, deviled eggs, greens, fries, hush puppies and sweet tea were all amazing. We’ll be back.
Love the food here. They give you just the right amount. And it's that good old fashion country cooking.
I feel that this is one of the best kept secrets in Raleigh. I always passed it when heading to Cary and something yesterday told me to stop. With Raleigh becoming so big, it's nice to have a place like this that feels like you're in a home like small restaurant in a small town. The biscuits were delicious and fluffy. Omelette was great and the service was tthe textbook definition of southern hospitality.
