Excellent barbecue sandwich , Country atmosphere very nice place for lunch

Awesome catering. Great food. Great staff.

Anyone who knows me knows I am a HUGE BBQ fan. So, when my wife and I were in town for a convention I was elated to find a "home-town hole in the wall place" serving up BBQ Not sure how long this place has been here, but it was small. Like I said, "hole in the wall". I don't say that as a bad thing, I have found some amazing "hole in the wall places" I am very fussy about my Cole slaw and potato salad so I asked the server if I could try a spoonful. She quickly got my request, and we were off..... The Cole slaw did nothing for me at all. Not a good flavor for me. The potato salad was better but nothing to write home about. I ordered the full rack of ribs. (These are the St. Louis ribs, not baby backs) I also ordered fries & the potato salad. Food came out pretty quickly and I will say this about the food - IT CAME OUT HOT!!!!!!! Took some time to actually be able to eat because it was so hot. I started with the potato salad. Again, it was ok. I was disappointed that a BBQ place didn't offer baked beans, but I was in another state so maybe they do things different there. They offered 2 types of sauces as I recall. Truthfully, I didn't care for either. I was hoping they came out with some good seasoning on them so I wouldn't have to use any sauce. The full rack came out in 2 pieces so 2 half racks. I was trying to cut a rib off to eat as they were not pre-cut which I thought was kind of unusual but again, different state. They were very hard to cut with a butter knife, so I asked the server for a steak knife. They don't have those?? I told the server they were kind of hard to cut and could she take them in the back and cut them for me. She said they shouldn't be hard to cut, and she would get me a new rack. I told her no, that I don't mind a little tug on the bone, but I still need to be able to cut them and a butter knife wasn't doing it. The flavor was OK but I'm a sauce fan so having them without sauce was hard. They were seasoned just not overly seasoned. The fries were basic fries, again nothing to write home about. I had 2 or 3 ribs and packed the rest up to take back to the hotel. My wife and I stopped at a store on the way there and I picked up a small bottle of Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce. I wish the food was better as I was really looking forward to eating here. When it's all said and done, I would not go back here.

The best place in the area for barbecue. The pork BBQ paired with their barbecue sauce is simply outstanding!Highly recommended.

Great food and friendly service!

A friend of mine were wanting some NC BBQ as we made our way to the PNC arena. From the moment we entered, we were greeted warmly and the waitress was funny and very accommodating to us and the many people coming in for take out orders. So I had the pulled pork and chicken breast and wing combination with mashed potatoes and gravy and homemade baked Mac and Cheese the best kind! Add to that sweet tea to wash it down! Everything was on point! Nothing but one of the best experiences in a restaurant that I ever had as well as the best dinner! I’m so glad I was able to take a chance and go! I will definitely be back next time I’m in the area! Kudos!

This place was EPIC. The chopped pork was tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The hush puppies made me wish I lived in Raleigh. The atmosphere and service at the family owned restaurant was top notch. This is the "local place" everyone wishes they had in their backyard. Ole Time Barbecue is a must have, go-to spot on the national barbecue tour.

Being from Texas makes bbq a pretty big deal to me. So when we stopped by Old Time Barbecue I wasn’t sure what to expect, WHAT A TREAT.Yummy, juicy bbq sandwich with fried okra was the best! Great staff, wonderful food and quick service make this a great lunch spot. Expect a line, the goods that good, but it comes out quick! They also have family meals when you don’t feel like cooking.

We needed some to eat close to PNC arena. This place was awesome! This was a down home country cooking at it's best. Pork BBQ and sides were great and the wait staff made you feel at home. Highly recommended!

Good food, friendly service!
