It was good. Nothing out of the ordinary. I'm from St. Louis so we like pickles and onions with our fish and spaghetti, which they had none of. Oh, and jumbo shrimp ain't jumbo!

The seafood platter was hot and fresh. The seafood is tasty. This place is always busy but the line and wait time does move in a decent time.

Completely RUDEAs I was attempting to placing an order in. The manager would not grant a simple request of placing a combo item in a separate container.Just one item in a separate box.I was told NO!The managers solution: he stated “I will give you an extra container, and you can separate them yourself.”Excuse me.I felt not valued as a customer and really insulted. I have ate at this restaurant many times before. The food is great. However, they did not receive my money today nor, will they see it in the future.Horrible Customer ServiceVery Disappointed ?

We have gotten two takeout lunches from this restaurant located at the State Farmers' Market in Raleigh, both oyster plates with fries, hush puppies and coleslaw. We ate at picnic tables outside near the restaurant. The restaurant is very casual and unpretentious but the food is great! We love oysters and theirs are fresh, mild and lightly coated. Yum!!

Got the captain’s platter. It was a lot of food for two person. The deviled crab was good. Loved the shrimp because it was less battered, but could be little more fried. The trout fry was not overwhelming, as it has no salt or seasoning just deep fried with some flour coating. The sides were ok. Amount was the dish was worth (20$). Freshness was there, but quality was an average

I'm from Fayetteville, NC and whenever I want some really good seafood I go to Captain Jerry's. I wanted to try to find something similar in the Raleigh area. I found this restaurant and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it didn't compare to Captain Jerry's as I'd hoped. I placed the order to go and it was ready as soon as I got there. The food had nice flavors and was seasoned pretty well and it was A LOT of food, so you definitely get your money's worth. However, nothing was crispy. When I see fried seafood like this I expect to have a crunch but that wasn't the case. If the food was crispier I think it'd come close to Captain Jerry's but as of right now, I don't really like soggy/soft fries, shrimp, and catfish. I may give this another try just to see if it may have just been the day that I went, we all have off days.

Wow wow wow!!! Best seafood I've ever had! Hot ,fresh , not greasy. The large cod fish platter has 4 pieces of fish a helping of slaw, plenty of home fries and yummy soft hush puppies!! The sweet tea is dark and yummy. Don't give me sweet tea I can see through don't want it weak. The only thing better than the food is the service. I'm going to have to try a lemon pie next time I was told they were home made.

Unfortunately, it appears that whoever manages the NC Farmer’s Market Seafood Restaurant has not been able to (or is unwilling to) adjust their business plan to a post-COVID world. What used to be a decent fast-food Calabash-style seafood establishment that offered a fair value, has become an average-quality place with sky-rocking process. The food has just gotten way too expensive for the setting and for what it is, Also, like a lot of places these days, they have a difficult time finding help… so the employees they can get, they are paying $20/hr, escalating labor costs. They’ve been in business 30 years, but I am not sure they’ll be able to make it to 31. It’s sad, but I am not sure they are doing all they can to offer the value that many expect. Also, even more concerning, I’ve recently learned that what is billed as fresh North Carolina seafood is mostly imported. From a recent news report: “Shrimp boxes that were tossed into dumpsters were labeled "India" and "South America," and flounder and cod were from China. There were empty catfish boxes from a North Carolina catfish farm. N.C. Seafood Restaurant owner and operator Kemp Pendergrass refused to talk with WRAL Investigates about its findings. Got to be NC? Not necessarily at State Farmers Market seafood restaurant :: WRAL.com
