First time trying Mulinos. We went for a friends birthday, party of 6. Made a reservation a couple nights in advance and had our table ready for us outsideWe ordered a bunch of items so we could try everything. Enough portion size to serve it as family style.Server was knowledgeable and friendly. The food came out really quick considering how much we ordered. Some favored certain dishes more, but overall everyone seemed to really like everything we ordered. We went heavy on the pasta since there were so many to choose from.I think my favorite was the Octopus appetizer
After 4 years of eating here our last two visits have turned my husband and self away. What used to be a pizza crust of Sicilian perfection is now ordinary. For $22, the Mulina pizza was over tomatoed and sort of crispy not as it used to be.The staff is rushed so only adequately attentive. The noise level was to the point that we were shouting at each other. Given that the restaurant is moderately expensive, the dining experience is not matched by the price
The gorgeous patio overpromised, and the food badly under delivered. Salads were ok tho one was heavy with dressing and the other had none, but the mains were beyond awful: pizza with cheese the taste/texture of bowling alley pizza (and a soft, doughy crust), and eggplant parm that had an unidentifiable funk. What a shame, as the setting and service were very nice.
The restaurant has a beautiful terrace around a big nice pool. We ordered calamari as a starter and 3 different kind of pasta. The first faux pas: 1 minute after the calamari arrived, the pasta was served. All 3 pasta sauces were too fluid and not with a lot of taste. When we asked for spoons for the pasta, the service brought us small coffee spoons. Of course after we finished the pasta, the fried calamari were cold. Overall a sad experience at such nice place.
Mulino Italian kitchen and bar is hands down the place for a nice solo date or just you and your bae. Fortunately I had my birthday dinner here and it was an amazing experience. Brandon was my waitress and he checked on me every chance he got. Which was much appreciated because it was a solo dinner. He made sure to offer me the best tasting food on the menu as well as drinks. If I could ask for him again I would every time. The staff made sure I got a table even though I was a little late and it was inside since I had gotten a little cold. Thank you Michelle, Brandon, outside bartender, hostess and another waitress for making my night lovely. I can’t wait to bring my friend here. Thank you & happy birthday to me 24!
The ambience is very intimate and fancy- great for any special occasions! Our server was very kind and we had a party of 8. I wish we sat outside because they have a lovely fountain but it’s okay. I got the salmon ravioli and it was chefs kiss!! My friends said the cocktails went a little strong. However, I rate 4 stars only because my friend ordered the caccio e pepe pasta and it smelled like rubber/tar. We had to send it back bc it smelled and tasted so bad??? The server was very understanding though and they gave my friend free gnocchi instead. Everything else tasted great- but def don’t order the caccio Would come again for a date night or birthday!
Mulinos is a well known restaurant in Raleigh. It is a relaxed vibe with alot of Italian dishes to pick from. I love their lasagna, but the reason I provided 4 stars is due to the 5 times I have visited 2 times the lasagna was a bit over cooked and crunchy/burned. I picked around it and the sauce was still tasty. But I would hate to recommend something that I love and anyone not being satisfied. Overall I love this restaurant.
2.14.22What they are saying is TRUE about seating. So WATCH OUT and speak up. With high-end restaurants this is common practice and they need to "protect" their ambience and image. So make sure to do it speak up and they will move you as requested, no problem. I'm used to it with these kinds of restaurants, but it's important to still go to promote change in culture. My experience:We had booked weeks in advance and when we arrived we were put initially in outside seating when we had reserved for indoors. So we were seated outdoors by the pool and decided to speak up (it was very pretty and warm enough, but we wanted inside). We were moved indoors BUT we were placed right in front of the swinging doors to the kitchen when there were multiple 2 seater settings available. We asked the hostess to be move again and pointed to the table we wanted nearby and then we were seated there. Much nicer.Rose was dropped off to us without a word and we were appeased for the annoyance of having to ask to be moved twice. Appetizers were served. I'm especially impressed since in the reservation (remember, made weeks ago) we had specified that I had a scallop allergy and needed a supplement and they REMEMBERED without me having to ask. ExcellentOur actual server was really professional and inviting; She poured our wine and asked us to try it to make sure we liked it, she cleared plates during a change in course, she let us have enough time and described the following courses very well, and she took our picture when asked. She made our experience feel very special, so thank you ?The food was great, the wine pairing went really well with the warm food, the salad and desert were to die for and we overall had a really nice time. I'm so glad we spoke up and moved to where we wanted to he seated because it made the experience amazing ❤
I come from an Italian family which has made me very picky about Italian food. Very, very picky. I've probably only thoroughly enjoyed 3 out of the many Italian restaurants I've been to. This is one of them. I've never seen a restaurant like it. You can see in the photos that they have a large section of the restaurant under the biggest, fanciest tent I've ever seen. Romantically styled tables and chairs are scattered around an elegant pool. There is a bar also open to this section, though I believe that is temporarily closed because of covid. No worries, though! There is another bar further inside! The menu is incredible and you can trust that those taking care of you know what they are talking about! There are some of the most stunning private party rooms I have ever seen further in. All of the pasta is made fresh. Everything is fresh. Their cooks spend their mornings and afternoons preparing the fresh food every day which is why they only open in the evenings. That's serious dedication. They also host wedding events on the weekend. The place is truly a powerhouse of a restaurant. If you're looking to snack on bread, however, take note that it doesn't come with the table. But what they lack in complimentary bread, they make up for in every other way. As delicious as their food was, the environment and customer service surpassed any place I had been to. I was setting up a surprise party for a sister, and my lovely waiter Salvatore was not only from my Italian family's origin of Naples, but he was also the first to ask if I needed help with anything. He was there for far more than serving food, and his kindness, humor, and care were more than impressionable. I even received help from one of the new managers, Christopher, who was more than happy to assist me with menial tasks even when he was busy working on his personal work. Stefania helped make sure I was taken care of as well with decorations and, I must say, I'd never seen people go out of their way in a restaurant space as they did. Stellar place to host an event. Amazing romantic date space. I'd come just to hang at the bar and talk with the staff. Truly wonderful experience and I can't wait to go back!!!
Went to Mulino’s to try something new. We were not disappointed. It was a great experience and we will definitely be coming back. We had the scallop mushroom risotto and the eggplant ravioli and they were amazing. If you go then try to find Ethan. He was very knowledgeable about the dishes and was a treat to have as a server. Thanks again.
