Have dined here a few other times but not in a few years. It's been good Indian food but a little disappointed this visit. The chicken in my Khadai curry fish wasn't fresh and didn't taste good while other pieces were fine. My wife tasted and confirmed the same observation, and couldn't finish the piece she started. It was also slightly tough. The curry stew and eggplant curry were good, but mixing in old chicken ruined halfway ruined the dish. Good meal otherwise.
Kadhai is our favorite Indian restaurant and we’ve been devoted patrons since they first opened years ago. Everyone we’ve introduced has loved it, even our friends who were brand new to this cuisine. The food on the menu and on the buffet (our fav) is always delicious, extremely fresh and the variety of dishes makes it a new experience each time! Butter chicken, tandoori, lamb, vindaloo, naan, etc. Everything is amazingly tasty and the staff is great. Try it, you won’t be disappointed!
Visiting from out of town (eventually moving here), looking for Indian food close by and this place had high ratings. We came for dinner, it’s open for lunch then closes in the afternoon to reopen for dinner. We were so hungry and everything on the menu looked so good! Highly recommend going with a large group of people and then getting different things to share. I ordered the Kadhai chicken, he ordered the vindaloo with lamb (chef’s kiss). Spice level: they say it’s from 1-10, you pick. I love hot spicy foods, went with a 5 and it was pretty mild. If you really love spicy, go up towards 8-10. A large plate of rice is served for the table when your entree’s arrive. Our dishes arrived in bowls with what initially looks like a small amount of food, but once you start mixing in rice to your stew it quickly becomes filling. They will also bring more rice if you need it. It is a little pricey ($15-$19 per plate) but I feel it’s absolutely worth it. Can’t wait to come back in a few months to try the lunch buffet.
Once again, TOTALLY AWESOME!!!! We have been eating here for years. I must now share it with the world! The lunch buffets are fantastic and the dinners could not be better. Kadhai is my favorite restaurant, ANYWHERE!!!! So tasty it’s hard to describe!!!!!!!
Lunch buffet had an ok selection of entrees, but not much for appetizers and nothing for dessert. The food lacked any flavor, which is confusing because Indian spices are naturally very flavorful. Not horrible, but even at $12 definitely not worth the money.
It’s a Indian restaurant but the front desk guy has attitude issues with people from India.Lunch buffet is not worth the price. All tastes seems okay compared to other Indian options around the neighborhood. And lunch buffet doesn’t even have any appetizer to start with. For a limited menu their price is way too much than expected even on weekday. Their special order also seems not the worth it. Go I Manchuria as more ketch than Gobi. Even with taste and price, if you pay with card they charge extra 4 percent on your bill.Would like to pay $50 for two people with a okay menu?
We love Kadhai. It is our go to Indian restaurant in the area. We typically order the Tikka and Butter Chicken (because we're boring) but both are so incredibly delicious so why would we order anything else?
Ordered takeout, one curry and one vindaloo chicken. No complaints about the food quality - very good quality food, especially the rice. My issue is that the advertised prices are false, if you're paying by card they add a dollar per entree and don't mention this on the website - just on a printed sign next to the cash register. Thus a chicken curry is 16 instead of 15 and a vindaloo is 17 instead of 16. I just think this is deceptive advertising, normally you list a price and discount for cash. I thought the food was also a little sauce heavy and light on protein for the price, but again great flavor, quality and spice level.
My only experience is the lunch buffet but that's been great. It's available as of this review, when many other restaurants still have theirs closed. It's modest in size but I like the spice level (medium VS mild with most other buffets) and they often have dishes you'll not find at other buffets. Today they had a nicely done vindaloo. Service is friendly and prompt. It's clean. It's worth the drive for me from east Durham.
The food was good. The server was nice and polite. They got the food out fast. Highly recommend! Delicious food!
